Error Message: Looks like something's wrong. Please Try Again.

I have already reached out to eBay via chat and phone and pretty much feel abandoned, therefore I am reaching out to the Community for some help.

For the past few days, we have been unable to edit any of our listings. When we are on the Listing Page, and we click "Edit" under "Actions," we keep getting the error message: "Looks like something's wrong. Please Try Again." Every single listing has this error message. I have attached the screenshot showing the error. I am not sure if it is just a coincidence or not, but our Monthly Selling limits were automatically increased this issue started occurring right after that. Prior to this we were able to edit the listings without any problems.

Doing some internet searches it appears as this is a known issue for the past several years. People are often told to wait 3 months and then when 3 months come they are asked to wait another 3 months. When I contacted eBay both via chat and phone I was told that this is a known issue and that I should just wait just like the others have experienced.

We have already waited a couple of days so, what options do we have to edit the listings? Also, how many of you are also experiencing this same issue?

Thanks for your help in advance.

If there is any kind of workaround, if you can still accomplish the same end result - no matter how much more work or time is needed -  in another way, there may be a good chance that you would see this same problem in 2025.  After a while, and many tinkerings later, when one thing is fixed, one or more other things go out and it is often better not to try to fix something.  Especially if a platform should be rebuilt from scratch.

Hi, has Ebay resolved the listing issue for you yet?

Re: Error Message: Looks like something's wrong. Please Try Again.

Same here. I have been experiencing this issue for many months and it is getting worse. I have also lost many hours of work because my listings won't save if you manage to edit them somehow. Last time I tried to edit my listing it took me 5 hours to do so and then 24 hours of trying to save it after I added 50 new variations (I downloaded automatic mouse click program so my mouse was clicking on save every 20 sec). Unfortunately it did not save at the end (no error message).

Few months ago I was able to edit and save my listings after few hours of trying but now it is impossible. I contacted ebay cs many times and yes I can confirm they don't care or they simply lack the resources to help us. One time I was even assured by the manager that he will personally get it fixed for me and take care of my account but nothing got done. I have tried everything from clearing the cache and history to using all the available browsers (best results with chrome and opera) and few of the mobile devices. The only observations I have and are worth pointing out:

- the issue seems to start showing up only for big multivariaton listings (the more variations you have the worse it is) - I started to see it from around 170 and 2 of my listings are affected (198 and 202 - they are basically uneditable except for the "Manage variations" feature in Seller's Hub where I can at least change the quantity of the variations and the individual price -  btw. there was a time when this feature did not work for me as well but it got fixed in few days after I contacted ebay)

- the issue is not connected to individual accounts - it is an ebay site issue - I was told it multivariation processing error (confirmed by ebay on chat).

- I have heard and read that some of the categories are worse than the others (unconfirmed)

- from my observations it looks like the older the listing is the harder to edit it (for instance when the listing's time to renew itself is 0-10 days it is harder to edit it than when it is 30) (unconfirmed - maybe just a happy guessing like pressing FEES amount before editing the listing)

This issue is annoying and ebay should limit the number of variations per listing to 150 if they cannot fix this technical problem. I lost countless hours and nerve on this and I don't think they will fix it (They would have done 10 years ago if it was possible).

Re: Error Message: Looks like something's wrong. Please Try Again.

Thanks for the update and very detailed observations.

As of today (appx 8 months later), I am still unable to add new listings to my store or edit existing listings. I have contacted Ebay's customer service several times again. I have also contacted Ebay for Business again and was told that they (MJ) had talked with Ebay's IT dept in August.  IT "was able to reset something in your account to allow you to create new listings..."  This reset did not work. I am still unable to create new listings.

Next, it was then recommended that I start a new account...abandoning my existing account which has all of my feedback data as of 2006.  Further, I would have to abandon all of my listings and be on the hook for two premium stores.

This is just not right.

Update: 2/4/2021 (Approaching 1 year later)

I am still not able to edit my existing listings or create new single or multiple listings. I am still unable to edit my shipping and return policies. I am approaching 1 year of not being able to add listings to my Ebay store or access my listings as other Sellers.

I have contacted Ebay over and over again, and have been told over and over again that IT is working on the issue.

I just started having this problem, being unable to add photos to a draft or a new listing. Almost a year now so I don't hold much hope of a resolution

Be careful complaining ...you might get a delivery of roaches..

Former eBay Execs Allegedly Made Life Hell for Critics
Surveillance. Harassment. A live cockroach delivery. US attorneys have charged six former eBay workers in association with an outrageous cyberstalking campaign.

LATE LAST SUMMER, an executive at eBay sent a series of text messages to James Baugh, who was the company’s senior director of safety and security at the time. “If we are ever going to take her down..now is the time,” the first message read, according to a screengrab of the thread. Later, the executive emphasized, “I want her DONE.” Baugh responded that he had a plan. And then he allegedly set it in motion.

Been with eBay nonstop since 2001. It has always happened and probably will continue long into the future after we are all dead and buried. Our great-great grandchildren might happen upon this thread.

Been having a similar issue I posted about, https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Revising-Listings-Lead-to-Error-Page/m-p/32066011#M1795575

looks like your post isn't reassuring. Keep calling them, maybe they'll eventually get to it.

I just had this happening for the first time today. I contacted their support and my name has been put on the list of affected accounts for this issue...

Many hours of work lost with drafts now being unable to get edited/listed. 😢

Re: Error Message: Looks like something's wrong. Please Try Again.

Haven't listed anything for a while and went to Create listing - single listing and I got a similar message over and over again. `Something went wrong. This page can't be loaded at this time. Please try again later'. Clicked `Got it' and it goes back to seller hub. It's very worrying. Using windows 11 laptop.
