Entering UPC numbers

I have been doing this for 25 years and have never had to enter UPC numbers.

Trying to sell a lot of silk embroidery thread. the number I listed is 0 46109 24009 1.

It keeps kicking back. I tried entering "various" and that didn't work.

Back when I was selling stuff other than used hub caps UPC wasn't necessary.

Please help an old man out.

Re: Entering UPC numbers

That doesn't seem to be a valid UPC number, if you google it.

Re: Entering UPC numbers

Probably an old number; the first 6 digits are from the 'company' so if the company has been out of business for a long time, the number will not work. Use 'not required' at the bottom of the drop down?

Re: Entering UPC numbers

The company is still in business.

There are no dropdown options in box.

Thanks for trying

I've tried entering with no spaces and with spaces between sets with no success.

The listing is for many products (colors) from the same company. By selling a lot of items the second part of the bar code is of no value to the buyer.

Ooooh give me back the old days

Re: Entering UPC numbers

Well I went back and changed the company name to "Unbranded" and it took. Did not change any of the listing.

Hopefully that works.

Thanks

We just enter "does not apply".  Works fine.

If the manufacturer is still in business, may I suggest adding it in to the title on your listing and mentioning it in your description?
Speaking as an eBay buyer and seller and as an embroiderer who loves working with silk threads, that will help draw more views and buyers than anything you could type into the item specifics.   Photos of the label and good color photos will also help you, of course!
