I am having issues with eBay's Variation system It is not allowing me to add more options to a variation attribute I have already made. I already have 52 options for this variation attribute but for some reason it is giving me a error stating to use ebay attributes but I do not want to. There should be no issues with my attribute name as I used the same format for another listing and that one has 200 options.
You’ve created a custom attribute for item condition and/or grade. Please remove the custom attribute and use eBay’s item condition instead.{e163233-1238503x}

Not sure if you are still dealing with this, but I JUST had this same problem. One listing had almost 200 variations with no issue while the other kept getting flagged. It turns out that certain key words in the variation titles themselves were what were setting it off! For me, specifically, it was the word "grade" in one of the video game titles. Taking out that specific word was all that it took for my listing to go up. Look through your variations and see if any of your titles have specific keywords that eBay might be picking up on. Cheers!

I just had the same thing editing a listing that'd been up for a couple of years. This time the keyword was "condition".
Tricky if one of the variations isn't in as good condition as the other!
I spent about 50 minutes on chat trying to get to the bottom of it, so also let them know that the error message is too vague.

If your CONDITION of the item is different that the other things you have in a Variation Listing, then it does NOT belong in that variation listing. It will likely need a listing of its own.
This should not be a "vague" issue. Variation listings are not meant for items that have various conditions. That is a recipe for getting RETURNS and upset buyers.

I'm so glad you posted this because I was having the same problem and was about to delete an entire draft listing with 50 variations that had taken me 2 hours to get right. I also had the word 'grade' in one of my variation names and that was causing the problem.

I've has this issue too, with a Multi-Variation listing that I've run for years with no problem. Turns out the problem variation was "Iron Man - First Appearance"
The problem word apparently being APPEARANCE.
I wish eBay would have highlighted that variation. It took me hours!
