Well, it looks like we may have another bug (I think?). Just got an email for "Ebay Collections" saying that I need to make an immediate payment for my account to be in good standing. Before anyone brings up phishing, I didn't click any links and the email included both my full name, my Ebay Store, and the actual amount of my August Invoice that was payed automatically through Paypal. When I look at my account, it's showing that my payment on the 15th was credited to my account, and the current balance is just the uninvoiced amounts.
Did anyone else experience this? I"m hoping Ebay's system will see the payment and it's just a glitch, I don't want to deal with the hassle of calling Ebay to try and resolve any issues if they do something dumb like close my account for not paying.

I wonder if this is one of those times when the powers-that-be might hope and wish it were a hack?

Its not a bug its a scam. Just contacted eBay. Don't open any of the links and forward to spoof@ebay.com.au Bit of a worry as I suspect they have actually been hacked, the scammers certainly have a lot of information about me. I'm about to change my password.

I got that email too, ugh!! My seller fees were automatically deducted from PayPal on 8/15/18, eBay account says zero balance as of today, 8/20/18, and get an eBay Collections email today!! WTH!! Get it together, eBay!!

I received the identical email for both my accounts. Yes paid and deducted through PayPal.
I believe though my account has been suspended as of an hour ago because I received a comment on Instagram that an item that is listed could not be purchased saying sellers account suspended.
Anyone else been having extremely odd selling patterns? I had two items clear last week within moments of each other. Sorry that just doesn’t happen either. My sales are down 51%.
In March I received an email stating my monthly store fee was $15.95; then one in April saying $19.95 yet now charged $21.95.
I feel like I’m in the middle of a black hole right now. They aren’t answering, hope no one has a real problem besides this.

It goes well beyond a scam if they have my e-mail, my true name, and the exact amount of my last bill. And why does Ebay show the same amount due now on August 31.

I got the email also. Fees were auto deducted on 8/15. EBay is just a train wreck.

I think this is a big hacking. I was going to call CS when I decided to come to this forum and ask the same question.
Look at the number at the bottom of that page, mine has this: USPRE
Who knows!

This is NOT a spoof email.
When I login to my account it is actually RESTRICTED.
My billing cycle also ends on the 15th, so I think it has something to do with that date.
Hopefully, they fix the issue

The easiest way to tell is to check your eBay message box if it's not in there as well and if its only in your email, then its a scam. So while I cannot speak for those who have had their accounts shut down, in my case its definitely a scam. It's quite possible that having clicked on any of the links in the email they have now lost access to their accounts.

This often repeated "rule", promulagated and encouraged by eBay itself, is not accurate. eBay often sends out authentic emails that do not go to user's eBay Messages, this is likely another such instance. eBay now admits they (or their subcontractor) originated the emails due to some unspecified "glitch".

Hi @secondlooksales, these emails were sent to some sellers in error. You can check your account balance to confirm if any amount is owed and if you find that you are up to date on your payments, you can disregard the email you received. We apologize for any inconvenience and recommend you check out our Help Page on fees for more.
