Ebay Bucks Program being RETIRED

So, I just got the message on another account that Ebay is retiring the Ebay bucks Program starting April 1st.  Yet another perk down the drain. Any thoughts?

Ebay Bucks Program being RETIRED

The 1% on all purchases is being retired. Bucks promos will still be sent out, and the bucks are good for a year.

Ebay Bucks Program being RETIRED

The message I received just stated the program was being retired. It said nothing about Bucks Promos still being sent out in the future? It did say I could still get REWARDS "IF" I signed up for a EBAY Mastercard.

there seem to be 2 versions of the email....I think some of us got the first draft, and some of us got the full email, which mentions the one year extension, etc.

This is the email I received:

"Thank you for being a Bucks member, and a valuable part of our eBay community. We’re reaching out to tell you about upcoming changes to the eBay Bucks program.

After careful consideration, we’ve decided to retire the 1% earnings reward on everyday purchases starting April 1st, 2021. The good news is, you will continue to receive bonus Bucks offers, so you can keep earning.

And, beginning April 1st, the Bucks you earn will have a 12-month redemption window, so there’s even more time to score those big savings.

You can also earn extra rewards through the eBay Mastercard®, earning up to 5x points on eBay purchases.‡ Now through March 11th, 2021, open a new eBay Mastercard, spend $250 in the first 30 days and receive a $50 statement credit.* Click here to learn more.

We hope you will continue to enjoy savings and deals on the brands you love. Plus, all the exciting finds you’ve come to expect on eBay: from the rare to the retro to the right now.

Sincerely,

The eBay Bucks Team"

That is not the same message I received? 2 different versions floating around. Well that will cause some confusion for sure.

I'll miss them, but at least they will still send special Ebay Bucks offers now & then. It's something.

That is the same message I received also. So which is it? Or are some going to get them and others not?

I definitely was motivated to buy when they offered the bonus bucks.  Sadly no mention of something else replacing it unfortunately.  Bucks was basically their loyalty program, so what does that tell you?

Good point. I get points for every credit card I have.

Some, like Kroger, I get varying amounts depending on which card I use.

Or, if I pay cash. I love cash.

Offering a credit card is not exactly a rewards program.

Opening more credit cards can affect ones credit score.

I used to really like eBay bucks & it motivated me to buy.

Im buying less all the time.

Guess I needed that motivation.

One more reason to not buy.

Oh well.

We could use some clarification as there seems to be two different messages

It said nothing about Bucks Promos still being sent

@ekmadonna

They are sending out different messages to different users.  Some are not getting "the good news is.."  I posted two screenshots in this thread (message 6)

The large photo is the one I got, the smaller is the "discrepancy" area where the message is a bit different.
