The eBay Bucks Rewards Program was designed to reward eBay members for purchasing items on ebay.com. After careful consideration it was discontinued on April 2nd, 2024
( to deliver more exciting value to our customers ).
Ya hows that working out for y'all ?
Oh that's right the Ebay sellers now pay promotion fees to get there customers excited 🤔
I don't think that customer excitement is working out to well.
But im pretty sure Ebay is excited about it.
Just saying .....

The OP is actually correct as are some of the other posters here. Ebay did stop allowing most members access to Ebay bucks years ago. But they did still allow a few in the program, not sure why, but that is what they did. In April of this year the program was completely retired.
I would love to see this program come back. I really liked it.

I miss it to since i purchase a lot on Ebay.
Now that its gone i check prices on multiple websites and most of the time the website with the best price gets the sell.
Before when Ebay had Ebay bucks i never checked other websites for cheaper prices.

Ebay bucks
It was an incentive to draw & motivate individuals to continue making purchases on ebay.
Effectively it benefited both sellers & buyers
I think elimination of the program was unwise

I would buy everything I could have bought elsewhere on Ebay for the Bucks... just small purchases that would add up. Record needles, water filters, brake pads, etc. Nothing huge, but it all added up

Be careful on Temu -- the Chinese government is collecting data every way possible so that the regime can find even more of our weaknesses and exploit them. (China already has us addicted to buying trash that is designed to go bad after 6 months, and then, without thinking, re-ordering it anew.)

I bought a lot on ebay using the ebay bucks. Not so much now. To bad so sad!

Was discontinued several years back - special opportunities drop for volume buyers to earn them still. But quite rare.

It was a Huge Mistake to retire that Incentive!

The appearance of something for nothing appeals to some buyers more than others.
Ebay had a lock on many of those buyers to whom price was supreme until Temu and Shain came along and began to erode the low priced, crap product segment's performance.
Ebay has made inroads with some buyers who are not solely buying on Ebay because of price, but because Ebay selection is greater for the items they wish to buy, and they are less afraid of Ebay sellers than they were in the past.
I pretty much limit my purchases on Ebay to cheap Chinese products which I expect to treat as disposable. Ebay is enough below Amazon to make the sale, and not as slow as Temu and more likely not to arrive DOA than Temu.
My Ebay Bucks never added up to much because I buy limited Cheap Chinese Products.
