How can I avoid relisting items that are already listed when you're dealing with 200+ items. (duplicating items)

I suppose everybody has their own system.
As for me, the unlisted is in one room and the listed is in other places like a couple of closets and a spare room. But I have room for that.
Just figure out a way to keep listed separated from not listed.
I would also advise being more diligent that I am getting the not sold items out of my way.

Turbo Lister also catches most dupes as well, and will fail to list if even one item going up in a batch is a duplicate.

OP,
I keep all my listings in Turbo Lister.
When I create a listing, I put it in an 'INVENTORY' folder.
When I list an item, I put it in a 'LISTED' folder.
If the item sells, I move the listing to a 'SOLD' folder.
If the item does not sell, I move the listing back to the 'INVENTORY' folder.
So I easily avoid duplicates by following this procedure and only listing items in the 'INVENTORY' folder.

I do 3 things
1) I list EVERYTHING from Auctiva which won't let me list duplicates (usually)
2) I list either as GTC, or I list from folders that I ONLY touch when there is a promo going. (one for Auctions, one for FP)
3) I run this program after every promo to make sure the first 2 things didn't fail me: http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/DuplicateListings.htm

While I am eternally grateful for this tool ( it's saved my heiney on more than one occassion ) I cannot for the life of me understand why eBay doesn't have something similar. AFAIC, the fact they do NOT have a similar tool, since they are so down on sellers having duplicate listings ( on purpose or by accident or by eBay glitch) rather glaringly highlights the fact the eBay simply does NOT care about helping sellers avoid defects. Period.

I am dealing with the same problem. I spend a lot of time checking and rechecking if I had a duplicate listing. Lots of times I did and it is taken away. And then relisted if the first listing had a bid. I am hoping I will not get suspended over this. I just can’t be correct all the time and it is not easy when you have almost 200 listed. There must be an easier way to avoid duplicate lists then going through the listing over and over again. Why can’t they just have it not work instead of holding on to the listing and it appears if there is a bid on the first time listed? Better then holding the mistake against you and warning a suspension. Is there an easier way to see if you are listing a duplicate item before you make that final click?
