I try not to be negative but there are some facts that cannot be ignored. There are way to many changes happening at the same time which there have been many blunderous ones. Its as if they want to be at the bottom of a mountain and be able to just reach to the top without climbing. I will say they do not do due dilligence in researching changes they make before implimentation. It is obvious shareholders have the same opinion and stock prices reflect that.
Seller metrics - Item Not As Described...
While the idea behind it makes good sense it was thrown together to quickly without enough proper data. Item not As Described. Ok so they just implimented seller pays returns..before this even catches on in the minset of buyers right away they set up seller metrics. The result is the buyer has a mindset that if they do not sellect Item Not As Described they will be paying for the return. So to combat this situation Ebay ignores it and makes it a nightmare to get this removed from your metrics even when it is clear as day what the buyer is saying is not true. Shame on ebay for handling this the way they do.
Seller Metrics - Shipping Tracking upload and postal scan upload....
When printing a label tracking is uploaded then when the item gets to the post office item is scanned and uploaded as item has reached the carrier. Sometimes its uploaded the day you drop it off sometimes not. If there is a problem it affects your metrics yet you did nothing wrong. Again another nightmare to try and fix. After a phone call to USPS headquarters I find out that there is a policy in which the post office has 72 hours to scan and upload. I have this conversation documented. This obviously conflics with ebay policy and sellers are to take the brunt of this nonesense. Who impliments these things without considering all facts or proper reserch and data before implimentation. A big rush to blunders.
The 14 day sales blunder...
While some may believe they reversed this policy because to many people complained and they listened. Believe that if you want, but nobody reverses something in business because its not working for you. This was a major disruption and again not proprly researched with some good data before implimenting. Another big rushed blunder.
The Missing Photo Phenomenon....
What a HUGE inconvenience and blunder. Like how many listings still affected by this are they collecting monthly insertion fees on that will never sell because of that? And when you call and complain don't expect credit of even an appology. Unbelievable. How does a company that big impliment something affecting listings in which they rewrite code that breaks the link permanently to listings photos . No back up, no research, no nothing just another rushed blunder.
Ebays stock is feeling the wrath and they just better get it together. If you ask me they do not need to be a giant they are who they are and they ought to focus on their roots. Greed and wanting what the Jones have has never worked.
I hope they slow down with the changes and do due dilligence to better research and development of whatever goal they are trying to obtain and possibly that goal is out of reach and a new goal needs to be set.
Dont have all your eggs in one basket that way when trouble is lurking there is back up til the trouble subsides. Good luck all. Be patient I have faith they will readjust and things will level out.
