People who are regular sellers with the relatively large amount of inventory you have are here to make money. That's why they're competitive. It's the same thing in pre-owned clothing and electronics. I can't over-price because I feel like eBay has ruined the clothing market and I stubbornly decide I MUST get XYZ for it, then get angry because I'm not selling much (well, I guess I can but I'm thinking that is not too productive). I have to stay competitive. It's not easy and can be very frustrating, I understand, but it's the way it is.

Here is the thing.
While you think your item is better because you touched it, the truth is that no one knows who you are and even if they did they still aren't paying double.
Your items at 200-300 percent of the price of the competition have nothing to offer the customers. They aren't going to sell anywhere at those prices.
Looking over your recent sales and into them I found that most of them sold only because the market price of the item drifted to the point that your price was correct.
So your items that are at market prices are selling just fine, it is just that almost none of your items are at market prices.
And like it or not, ebay prices are THE market prices for used goods and out of date products in the overwhelming majority of categories. There isn't some secret alternate hotwheels market out there where people are lining up to pay double.
It is the invisible hand of the market that sets prices, not ebay, not the sellers, not the secret hot wheels club. Prices are set by supply and demand. Too much supply, prices go down, lot of demand prices go up. Demand collapses, prices can go to zero.
Also, media is one of the single worst things to overprice as the price of 98 percent of all media out there is on a continual downward trend. I treat most media like it is going to explode if I don't get rid of it soon.
As for your original question, everything should stay the same, I downgraded the level of my card store a year ago, and nothing changed at all, and you can probably tweak your categories on a few items if you find you are going over on the main 1000 listings. I am sure you have plenty of things in toys that could likely shift to collectibles.

My renewal is Nov. 1st

I only agree with your last paragraph, I do not agree with the rest, I have my reasons & I am not going to get into it with you

So no worries; this is the final month of your subscription so there will be no penalty.
Be sure to put in your downgrade before October 31. Store subscription cancellations and downgrades go into effect on the first day of the next calendar month (in this case, November 1) so you can do it any time during October to go into effect on November 1.

Hang in there if you can. Things are tough all over the place and you're not alone.

You keep your banner and your in-house categories.
The number of paid listings under your subscription falls to 1000.
BUT
Check your Seller Page.
You may get promotional Free Listings well beyond that subcribed thousand.
I have been getting some 10,000 monthly freebies for a couple of years now.
Be careful.
Do take down any stale-ish listings the day before they expire and relist.
Then check to see if you have triggered any promotions.
You can pull those from your Unsold Listings and list them with the freebies.
It also seems that the freebies get used first, so last month I believe I used some 1200 free listings and only about ten subscribed listings. (The numbers are approximate, because I don't really pay much attention to them.)

I think your mission is only going to cost you money and do nothing to fix the problems as you see them. The other sellers will get the sales. You are not just overpriced on Collectibles as I noted in an earlier post.
You may think you are saving money, but you aren't. FYI I never said anything about you pricing something at $25 that has a price from other sellers at $5. That is possibly an over statement in an effort to make a point.
"Others prices are cheaper just so they can sell SOMETHING & keep ebay at bay, Others are selling cheaper so they can get rid of their stuff & leave here as well," Those are your assumptions not based on any facts.
The EIS program is much better than the old international program.

As for my hot wheels prices, 90% of that inventory are in lots or bundles whatever you want to call it, & those prices per car are Excellent prices & the customer saves drastically on shipping cost, & i do not trust any of ebay's market prices state or much of any other of their information they give us
10-15-2024 05:27 AM
I heard that about the old program to & trusted that info, Not anymore

I will be changing that Today!, I am also doing this as a clean way out, You have seen how bad this year has been for many many sellers even with cheap prices, You really think their New changes are going to Help?, I don;t & the state of the world & this election, To many leaning toward the wrong candidate because they wrongfully believe that things will be financially better under them, when in fact if that person wins, You will all be wishing you followed me out the door!, I don't much care for the other candidate either but as they say the lesser of two evils.

You have 1700 items up, sold 30 in last 90 days........doesn't that tell you something?
