So basically, we can't discuss technical issues here anymore, is that the case? Because every discussion of a technical issue now gets moved to another obscure board that nobody looks at. Ah well, sellers never have technical issues to discuss with other sellers, now do they?

Your search bar post did not turn out to be a technical issue after all, at least according to the reply from the CS.
The lack of a search bar for non-store accounts is quite a critical new change to the way in which a buyer can find a seller's items, and I believe it would be helpul for these sellers to know about this change.
I, for one, am grateful to have learned of this situation through your thread.
It certainly adds a new layer of disadvantage to a non-store account.

Looks like we don't. I posted about one, and then had to use my icon at the top of the page to find out where the post went. Community Info - Share eBay Technical Issues. Never mind that someone here might also need to know about the glitch or have run into it.... That would be logical and sensible, after all.

I agree - it appears to be an intended design change by eBay and the post should have remained on the selling board.

Yep, long story short, I guess it's considered a "technical issue" now that you have to PAY FOR A SEARCH BAR. Technically, this somehow doesn't surprise me.

Yes. I have had several very helpful posts for sellers moved into some ethernet. One of my posts I was denied access to, my post. Seems like the backroom dictators are in charge of this board too. Very frustrating and seems to be an attempt to squelch free speech.

Oh, I don't think it's a free speech issue so much as any discussion of the ongoing technical nightmares on this site need to be relocated to a dark corner where nobody sees them. You're welcome to bring up any tech issue that you want, as long as nobody else sees it.

I've also had posts moved from the "selling" board to the "shipping" board due to the mere mention of the word "shipping".

Was it cs on the phone that said the change was on purpose? Are we certain that they are right? It makes no sense for them to not allow buyers to search each sellers items whether or not they have a store. I am still hopeful that this was done by accident and that it will be fixed.

Yes, "Gladys" at CS told me several times that if you don't have a store subscription you're basically SOL as far as having a search bar on your listings now.

I don’t doubt that she told you that but it seems that cs often gives out wrong information. No offence but I’m not convinced yet that it’s true.

Well, she did also end our little chat by telling me that she would pass my "complaint" on to the tech department, so that they could "fix this issue." And I think we all know exactly what that really means.

It's not that they don't know we've caught wise to that one, it's that they aren't paid enough to care. Or trained enough to do anything even if they did.
