Does anyone remember when?

I remember when I reached 500 positive feedbacks, ebay sent me a message.

I remember my first 1000 positive feedbacks,  ebay sent me a message saying great job.

2000,3000,4000 and then ebay stop caring.

I am at over 21000 positive sales on ebay, and ebay was not smart enough to leave the automatic messages in place.

For all the sellers out there that have hit a mark, 20, 50, 50,1000 or 1,000,000 customers satisfied, thank you for making ebay a great place.

I can't automatically say thank you, the way ebay could if they cared, or listened, but I care and truly appreciate you working hard to make ebay a great place.

Really? Whose idea was it to cancel automatic thank yous for hard work?

I still get messages in the chat rooms for milestones.

I immediately looked at my wall where, about 5 years ago ebay sent a congrats and Thank you certificate for reaching a 1,000 red star.

Not sure if they still send these to sellers or not...my guess is not.

I remember getting notes / items in the mail when reaching certain levels.  It was nice to be noticed.  Reached 5000 - and silence :-(.

Wonder if buyers get congrats when they reach a certain buying level?

Is it an indication of our uncaring, impersonal society?  Or do they not really give a d&%n?

One person business. Over 24,000 positive feedbacks.

 Also on the River.

Every time I log on (everyday) I am grateful I haven't been kicked off.

I remember getting automated messages from eBay.

I never mistook them for someone caring, someone noticing, or someone thanking me. I understodd them for what they were - messages generated by bots.

My "thank-yous" for all my hard work appears as dollars in my bank account.

Congrats to you! Quite an accomplishment!

No offense, and it is quite an accomplishment I agree, but does an automated, meaningless 'great job!' really motivate you or mean much?

Not to me personally...

I hope that you take enough pride in your work that the satisfaction you receive is from doing good, honest work and treating your customers respectfully and fairly.

It's like getting  "have a nice day from a shop clerk" . She may actually mean it, but more likely it is just her mouth moving.

As for the badges we keep "earning" on these Boards.... my mother raised me to be a lady.

The board badges are strange.

Canadian children got these for joining in physical fitness activities. Fortunately I was already a parent.

That's a badge I could live with.  Our US public health picture is dire.

@luckythewinner

Are you getting more "thank-yous" then you did three years ago?
