Different website using my listing

Another site has copied and is using my post and photos to sell a hard to find item. They have 70 available?? Just feel like this site is a scam and wonder what I can do to stop them??

Migadeals.com and calls itself Porto e-commerce. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks! My listingMy listingFake SiteFake Site

Report the listing on that site. Unless you are the maker of that item there's really not much you can do.

Re: Different website using my listing

Porto is a wordpress theme used to set up an ecommerce site on wordpress.

Migadeals is a scam site, I'm not going to dig into the details of how they run their scams but you can Google Migadeals and read all the posts that claim it's a scam site.

These sites just randomly copy listings from other sites like eBay, etsy, Amazon etc. at very low prices, they are probably stealing buyer information (phone, address, credit card info) that they can them use to set up fraudulent accounts that buy from those same sites.

The Migadeals domain was registered through GoDaddy at the end of June 2024.

Re: Different website using my listing

Other than obtaining card info, do you think this could be affiliated with the face mask scam?  Note how the fake website price is much lower than the OP's.
So say someone finds the (cheaper) listing on google, pays the scammer for it, scammer essentially drop-ships the item from the real eBay seller to the real buyer.  Then the scammer initiates a return, sending back a face mask or other garbage, forcing the eBay seller to refund the scammer.  Scammer makes 100% profit off whatever their 'unbeatable' price was.

Re: Different website using my listing

Exactly 1 year later, I have just come across this same issue with one of my listings (probably more, who knows). I have found my unique item on two "Wholesale" sites, (very scammy looking) which is basically my exact listing and photos word for word. They are also selling at a lower price. I would love to know what the deal is. I am concerned that this can drag me down to some degree. I can't even really find a way to ask EBay or report it. These sites aren't "real" enough to report the poster to anyone. Very frustrating.

It doesn’t have anything to do with eBay, and the sites generally aren’t legitimate, so reporting it via that site is pointless even if there was an option. If you know how to find the host or registrar for the site, it may be possible to report it to them, but often they’re in countries that don’t really care.

The only somewhat effective reporting is to the ISP that is hosting the scam sites. Unfortunately that really doesn't do much because a) the ISP's being used as a host are located in a country that does not care about fraud and b) these sites simply move to a different ISP.

You can report to eBay all you want, at best they will just send a generic message to the ISP involved. The scammers just do a & b (above) and little if anything is accomplished.

I hadn't either; I just made it up!  I grew up around a lot of bad influences and it took some time in adulthood to get what ethics are about, but I still think of devious ways to rip people off now and then.

No doubt they're going to sell counterfeit knock offs.   A real collector will stop the minute they see there are 70 available.

Re: Different website using my listing

Yes I buy and sell collectibles. I bought a Boehm Madonna Gold rimmed porcelain bust for $160. While looking it up I found another advertised as only 5 made. I bought another for $29 though it had some thinning of the gold trim just to compare. These were created in 1952. The first one prior to buying I asked the seller about boxes, COA's etc. She had none. She let me know it had been sitting on her mom's dresser since she was a little girl adding to my proof of authenticity. The second cheaper one arrived and it looked different with thinner gold and raised antennae. They both have the Boehm trademark markings on the bottom. I have seen others online with a Boehm signature. So much for the 5 created.  Point is it is difficult to separate fakes from real for pricing. If I am going to keep doing this I really need to find a good shop to authenticate. I have not listed it yet because I don't know how yet and also I love the piece.

You have very nice things on your site. I sell similar items. Hope to have better luck to build my inventory.

Re: Different website using my listing

Classic Russian scam site. They're not shipping anything. They find their victims by offering rare and unique items that appear near the top of search engine results. It wouldn't work for items like "Nike Air Force" because they'd be on page 82,411.
