Delayed indexing in the eBay search engine

I know I have posted about this before but I am literally losing my mind with this... I have been experiencing this since Sept 1 and most newly listed items will show up on the ebay search and then disappear after a few minutes and they would go into the indexing queue for 24hrs. It's not all my items, just a select few. Sometimes when I list  new items, they show up in the search just fine for a couple of days (they have many watchers and views), then they will disappear for 24hrs to be indexed.

I am just trying to figure out why all the sudden, since Sept 1, this indexing thing is occurring. Prior to this time, I have never had any newly listed item go into a 24hr indexing period and I have sold many thousands of expensive handbags in my 10 year career.  The problem I am seeing is that when my newly listed items reappear in the search after the 24hr indexing period, my items appear at the bottom of the search... this kills my ability to sell since I usually make a sale within the first hour of an item being listed. 

I just want answers as to why this is happening and if it is happening to any other sellers? Is it because of the Authenticity Guarantee program? If this was the reason, then why is it happening now and not when the program started over a year ago? I fill out all of the necessary item specifics, I don't revise my listings either. I have done the same thing when filling out my listings for so many years now.  I have been in touch with merchant support and they are no help at all. Just desperate trying to figure this out and trying to figure out how to avoid the indexing delay.

Just the authentication process as a whole.  Looks like they don't have all the bugs worked out yet.

No, 36. A couple of days ago, I relisted all of my items in different ways (relist, sell similar, created a whole new listing) to see what items go into indexing and which ones show up in the search immediately. 14 out of 35 went into the indexing process and 13 of them show up in the search today after the 24hrs. I just listed another one today and it is in the indexing process so it’s not showing up.

For me the authentication process has been absolutely amazing. Many hundreds of my items have gone through it without a hitch.

It isn't just you; I sell media items and since September, since I do not do promoted listings, my sales have tanked; I also sell on the River and am listing more on M, since at least my items get views on those 2 sites.  Ebay seems to be a lost cause unless you pony up for PL.

That’s the thing though… I promote all of my listings and have since the very first day. So this doesn’t seem to be about whether you promote or not.

Maybe not, but from reading other threads, unless you're promoting at 10% or more, you're not getting organic views, but I do not know for sure.

I guess I do agree with you there when it comes to promoting.. I am not sure either as I have never had problems selling and I promote at 2%. But my items are rare and highly sought after so that could be why. I just don’t know why some of my items are indexing for 24hrs when this never happened prior to sept 1.

Supposedly there have been instances of items visible on Google but not on internal Ebay search since Sept.  I just know that when I moved some Pokemon cards from here to M, they sold right away, but weren't getting views here.

🤦🏻‍🤦🏻‍ Just shows how bad they messed the search results up. It’s probably time for me to expand to M and other places. Just stinks as eBay has always been so great for so long.
