Did you mean:

DENIED FOR EBAY FEE DEFERRAL PROGRAM.

Today I decide to check on my status to see if I had been accepted into the payment deferral program. To my dismay, I was rejected. I questioned support that sent me this response:

Hello Joe,

Thank you for contacting eBay regarding your payment for your eBay Fees. We know that many of you are facing uncertainty given how much is changing due to COVID-19.  We’re happy to provide additional information on deferred payments.

Upon reviewing your account, I noticed that you are not subscribed to an eBay Store for at least 30 days. Currently, deferred payments are only being offered to sellers who have been subscribed to an eBay Store for more than 30 days. As store subscribers generally have higher inventory, the decision was made, at this time, to defer payments for store subscribers to better help manage their business. That said, we are always evaluating opportunities to help sellers and have heard their feedback for future consideration.

While the current promotion being offered is only applicable to sellers who have had a store subscription for at least 30 days, you can consider subscribing to any store level (starting as low as $4.95/month) for potential future protections.

I am glad I was able to assist you with your question today. We hope you and your loved ones stay safe during this time. Thank you for choosing eBay. We value your business!

Well, Ive had a PREMIUM STORE for 8 years now!!! Here is a copy and paste from my subscriptions page:

Active Subscriptions
Premium Store - Billed at monthly rate
$74.95 / month
Subscription includes free access to
0
  • Start date:Mar 1, 2020

  • Renewal date:Apr 1, 2020

These are billed monthly so of course, its going to list the start dates like this but I can show 8 years of ebay invoices that shows this same amount billed to me each month. Im assuming this is a glitch and I cant be the only one snagged up in it. Who do I contact about straightening this out?

Thanks

Joe

Another ebay "opportuniy"!

They should have at least looked at your account before trying to upsell you.  I suggest you go to your seller hub front page and scroll down to the fees section.

Take a screen shot and tomorrow, 4/1, do the same to document it.

If there is a problem then at least you have it documented and can fight it out.

Since the brilliant decision to not debit Pay Pal as a source of payment, you need to change your payment source to a credit card you can freeze, stop or cancel.

Hope that helps.

Good Luck

@florida_parts, I'll tag one of the eBay employees in the community team for you.

@Anonymous, could you check into this seller's application for fee deferral? He has had a store for 8 years, but was rejected for fee-deferral, citing that his store had been open for less than a month.

Hi @lacemaker3 & @florida_parts, I recommend responding to the email that was received to address any errors with our initial review. If difficulties persist, I can help to have this addressed, just keep me posted.

Re: DENIED FOR EBAY FEE DEFERRAL PROGRAM.

Im just curious why you would pay for a premium store with the small amount of listings you have?

I was approved and I just checked and they still took my complete invoice amount, so I guess approved or not they are still taking your total invoice amount.  "Figures" a lot of talk no real action 😞

Because it's your NEXT invoice that's deferred not the one that was due for payment today.

Re: DENIED FOR EBAY FEE DEFERRAL PROGRAM.

It would appear to some that you were denied because you don't subscribe on a yearly basis.  Perhaps ebay's accounting method would prefer that yearly subscription method.  More security since there is a penalty for early cancellation, or something?

Or maybe the CS they dealt with wasn't aware that a monthly payment didn't mean they'd only had the store a month?

Obviously an opening there for some "coaching".

Perhaps you are right.  I guess I was just thinking about the different ways to show a better outcome on the 'books', by different ways of handling accounts.

The reason why account is not eligible is because you are not meeting one or more of our minimum requirements for customer service quality.

What does your seller dashboard look like and how are you doing with service metrics @florida_parts ? One of the requirements is that a seller's account needs  to be in good standing- though eBay did not elaborate on what that means one can assume it has to do with your seller performance and probably your past bill pay history, as well. Since the reply you got from CS addressed customer service I think that your dashboard and service metrics would be the place to look for any issues.

https://sellerstandards.ebay.com/dashboard

https://www.ebay.com/sh/prf/service-metrics

If you don't have any issues with seller performance then you might have better luck by re-phrasing your reply to CS. Bringing up the store coupon is only confusing things for them. Say something that addresses the monthly / annual subscription directly and keep it simple.

I was told I don't qualify for the fee deferment because of the length of my store subscription. Please review my account again. You will see that even though I have a monthly subscription instead of an annual subscription, I have had this monthly store subscription for 8 years, therefore that meets the requirement of having a store for more than 30 days. I would like to re-submit my application for fee deferment.

Thanks,

Seller

If you don't mind me asking- why is it that you've had a monthly subscription for a full 8 years? If you're in it long term then you would save a lot with an annual subscription.

Maybe your state needs to be on lock down to qualify.

Hi @florida_parts, though I can't go into further detail here on the boards regarding your application, I can confirm that the correct action was taken. I can also clarify that your store subscription was not a factor in our decision. While we are not always able to elaborate on the reason for ineligibility, such as when it is related to site security concerns, you can continue to discuss this with Customer Service if you would like.

Re: DENIED FOR EBAY FEE DEFERRAL PROGRAM.

Look at the language of the plan. If you are approved for deferral prior to March 31st,(keep in mind the offer was only sent on March 25th), you'll be eligible for 50% deferment on your March 31st invoice. I was approved on March 29th and 100% of the funds were taken on March 31st.

*If you are approved by March 31, 2020 and have an invoice dated March 31, 2020, 50% of the Covered Fees will be deferred until the April 30, 2020 invoice, and the remainder will be deferred until May 31, 2020 invoice.
*If you are approved between March 31st and April 10th, and have an invoice dated March 31, 2020, expect to pay your monthly March invoice in full as usual. 50% of your Covered Fees on your April 30, 2020 invoice will be deferred until the May 31, 2020 invoice and 50% deferred until your June 30th invoice.
*If you are approved by April 10, 2020 and have an invoice dated April 15, 2020, 50% of the Covered Fees will be deferred until the May 15, 2020 invoice, and the remainder will be deferred until the June 15, 2020 invoice.
