Hi,
If I create a new account can I transfer items to it?
Yes, I want to do this because of an awful FB...the only one I have.
*My 82 y/o mother maintains this account. Post retirement fun. Only now, with this experience, it's not.
See:
I did some research. Item shipped to US address provided. Via eBay Int'l., item shipped to buyer who had to pay customs fee.
Buyer contacted my mom re: shipping. She offered a refund, but the buyer said it was too much work to return the item.
Buyer also said item was defective and it wasn't. Buyer also said it wasn't the item they wanted.
The buyer then left negative FB complaining about the shipping. eBay refuses to remove the negative feedback.
My mom did everything right: shipped to US address given, shipped promptly, offered a refund. She's now lost a perfect rating because of a retaliatory buyer. She's been a longtime member in good standing.
Because of this, the account is on time away and she's considering leaving the platform. I'm angry on her behalf and I feel unheard by eBay.
She cannot even leave neutral FB for the buyer. ebay International is supposed to offer seller protection from this type of FB. Clearly, it doesn't.
The fact that the buyer says the item was not as described and now says it's not the one he wanted (so why buy it?) is abusive in its face.
She OFFERED A REFUND, but because the buyer doesn't want to return it he can leave negative FB. This is unconscionable.

Hi,
There's a lot of good stuff to unpack in your post.
My mom's being reading them and she's making a list of stuff she wants to remember.
Ultimately, whatever happens w/her account is up to her to decide.
I only got involved in this because she's not had to deal with a negative in a long, long time.
I can't remember when she last had one.
I think this was a shock b/c the buyer declined the refund. Leaving the negative seemed like a (insert whatever word you want) move.

Really good to know.
I did disenroll her from here:
I plan to go through her account, before "time away" ends, and make sure everything is the way she wants it.

Yes, already unsubscribed.
I just wanted to help my mom avoid any more complaints about customs.
As I noted, the buyer was all over the place with what the "issue" was supposed to be. I think he just wanted to keep the items and to get a full refund.

Hi,
Was totally kneejerk response.
For good of for ill, that's what it was.
Ultimately, my mom will decide what she wants to do.
The account is on "time away."
Really good points, however, and I will make sure she sees them!

@reademandkeep OK, it looks like you did it from the right place then, but I am still not convinced it was an EIS sale. I took a look at it & it doesn't look like one to me. There are many ways she could have sold to an overseas buyer & they used a US address. Also the OTHER eBay international shipping program, the one that's not good, who's name is VERY similar to EIS also uses the same hubs sometimes, so even if she shipped to the eBay hub, it doesn't mean it was EIS.
The reason I bring this all up is that EIS is a great program! I would consider NOT throwing the baby out with the bathwater b/c of 1 bad transaction, which frankly wasn't that bad (she didn't get scammed, no one is being abusive, no one likes negs, but in the grand scheme of things, 1 neg is no big deal). Does she really want to throw away all her International sales b/c of 1 sale that was problematic? Cuz you know that what happened could just as EASILY have happened with a domestic transaction. Buyers will sometimes be unhappy, they often lie to get what they want, it is what it is, why should she limit her sales b/c of 1 lousy buyer? Just food for thought.

As a buyer, I would have no hesitation buying from you. I know it hurts but don't worry about the feedback. Give mom a pep talk and have her go on ... with THIS account.

There are absolutely multiple ways to transfer listings from one account to another. Many crosslisting services can do it. The free trial of 3Dsellers can do it.

The other program @simply-the-best-for-you is referring to is eBay International Standard Delivery (EISD), and yeah, it works very similarly in a basic way (you ship to an eBay facility here in the US, which forwards it to the customer), but eBay doesn’t cover you for issues like nondelivery or returns, like they do for EIS.

@jonathanbrightlight Thank you, I never remember the name of it. Yeah, it's not nearly as good as EIS & lots of people have surprises with it & not good surprises. EIS is far superior!
