Counterfeit postage

USPS never delivered my sold item to the buyer. instead, they sent it to Atlanta Georgia in their dead letter department because they said the eBay label I used was counterfeit postage. Now the buyer does not receive his package and I have no way of recovering the package from USPS as they are telling me to contact eBay. I’m not sure if any real people work at eBay, or there is any way to actually chat with someone who can address this. Please help thanks

Go to USPS.com   There is an 800 number you can call for customer service.

@plsbuythis

Where did you get that information?  Did you enter the tracking number of the USPS site?

Could it be possible that the tracking number was already used and therefore they won't honor it a second time?

Good thought.  I've accidentally printed a label twice, and put the 2nd one on a different customer's package.  I noticed before it got shipped, but now I'd be curious what happened to the 2nd package the 2nd it got scanned.  I would think at some point the would stop attempting to deliver something that had an already used label on it.

While yes there are real people that work at eBay, this would not be something to contact them about. eBay is not the shipper, USPS is. eBay is just providing a link to USPS. As said above, you will need to contact USPS too get to the bottom of this.

Weren't there a couple of threads last week in which OPs had purchased labels through ebay and were accused of using fake postage?

I cannot find the threads (removed?) but it sounds like a glitch, as opposed to recycled tracking numbers.

Yes I vaguely remember this too.  Hopefully someone who remembers better will chime in.

This has happened to me MULTIPLE times in the last several months and customer service reps ignore my requests and deflect it on to me and patronize me. Has anyone found a way to get upper level management on the phone or in an email?

There was a thread in the buyer side a week or so ago. Buyer had to pay postage due to get the package as the label was counterfeit. Strange situation.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.
