Why is it that Ebay allows sellers to sell counterfeit DVDs. I bought Greys Anotomy DVD's that were counterfeit and reported it to Ebay. Thier replay was "We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made by a customer service agent." Did I not report the item correctly. Is there a way for me to contact Ebay to look into this more. Yes, the auction said they were new and sealed. Yes, new and sealed but counterfeit items.

The listing doesn't show anything that is obvious as being 'counterfeit'. To report 'counterfeit' it would have to state that in the listing title, description or a VERO member reports it. For a 'buyer' reporting it doesn't mean much of anything by the system (reports are looked at with Bots, IA).
If enough buyers (and you should do this) open a return for 'not as described', seller will have to pay for return shipping label and refund you in full (if not, you 'escalate' to ebay), then the sellers 'metrics' will take a hit and/or will be looked at closer and possibly shut down.

Thanks, I did open a return request 'not as described', received return label, and returned item. Waiting for a refund. It's just sad they that they don't pursue the many that are selling counterfeit DVD's. I hate the way Ebay funnels you into the return process without the options you need. IE: counterfeit item.

One of the NAD selections is 'Doesn't seem authentic'. I think that covers "counterfeit". Glad you opened the Return.

Do you expect ebay to go to every sellers location to inspect the items?
VERO was created so companies, who own the actual rights, can report those listings directly to ebay. If the companies do not want to do anything then there is not really anything you can do accept return for a refund.
Ebay is not just going to take your word for it and remove the seller.
BUT you are using a picture of Casper which you do not own the right to use for your avatar. Kinda falls along those same counterfeit rules to me.

The name alone should have been an indication that the DVDs were counterfeit.

Yes, I do think Ebay should look into counterfeit items they are making profit from them which is against the law. I'm not selling the image on my avatar.
