Idea for Ebay to help sellers generate more sales...
I sell books and with most listings, drop the ask price a little each month until the item sells or I choose to de-list it. Would there be any way Ebay could notify "watchers" when I drop prices of specific items? This would definitely help the conversion rate.

I get notifications all the time in my personal email inbox that I have on file with ebay.
I get price drops, offers, re-listed items, etc.
Probably due to the settings on my ebay account that other posters mentioned.

I think promoted listings does that.....For a fee of course.

That's already an option in a member's communication preferences.

In addition to nobody's_perfect reply, you can also go to your ACTIVE LISTINGS and click on the SEND OFFER--ELIGIBLE (nn) . That option recently started working for me when I offer a 10% discount on my BIN price.

Thanks stuff4divas and all of you for your responses. I called Ebay, and the rep told me that "watchers" receive notices of price drops automatically and therefore there are no settings in a seller's communication preferences that govern this. I've been a seller since 1998, but never a potential buyer leaving a watch notice, so I had no clue.

You were misinformed. I usually have dozens of items on my Watch list and i have never gotten any message about a price change. The option in a member's site preferences is about receiving those notifications.
