Hate the new format . How can I opt out

You can't opt out. Many have tried, but Ebay is making everyone comply with the new way of listing things. There are other websites to sell on, but none of them have the traffic flow ebay does. Facebook and Craigslist are a waste of time. Never have had much luck on either one.  So it's Ebay's way or no way unfortunately.

As with everything in life, incl. ebay "improvements" we'll get used to it. Lot of glitches, e.g. when I make a listing and want to preview it, I cannot get back so I can post it. The link "go to the previous page" (or similar wording) is not clickable. I tried at least three different browsers. Another one, I sell prints so there are option to select the printing technique from a drop-down menu. There is an excellent idea to add my own to the list. However, the form does not remember whatever I add to the list. Not a bid deal, just lot of annoying things.

Give it some time.  Most sellers (68%) prefer the new tool.  And I’m enjoying those 9% faster listing times.

The "search" option for looking things up in my own inventory rarely works, buyers are often confused or angry at how combined shipping works (many state that invoicing no longer functions), the site itself has errors galore, the postage section spazzes out on the regular, etc. Did eBay try to fix ANY of those? Nope.

Instead we got a cosmetic "upgrade" that is visually cluttered, ugly and removes options (not to mention defaulting ALL of my listings to "brand new" and changing my shipping policies). And now it all takes longer too.

Opting out is not possible. eBay's not going back to the former format. There are only two things you can do:

1.  ACCEPT the changes, ADJUST your expectations, attitude, time required, and business model (if necessary), and ADAPT to the changes. Even with the understandable grumbling over the changes, successful sellers here have already done that, or are doing that.

2. Change to another online selling venue that doesn't even come close to the worldwide exposure here. And then play whack-a-mole when one after another site makes some changes that are inconvenient for you and over which you also find you have no control.

Cheers, Duffy

Yep, that is totally frustrating.  Just one of the time wasting "improvements", I suppose.

Yesterday I did a listing, hit Preview, and, like you, could find no way back.  I had to do the ENTIRE listing again.  The next time I try to list, I'll Schedule (if I can find that function) the listing (I don't have a Store, so it's free), check the listing over & correct any mistakes, and then post.

Like every new tool, just takes some getting used to. I don't see it as any major hinderence after just a couple dozen listings.

The photos have never loaded as fast as they do now.

For me the issues were:

1) As posted above, unable to post a listing after using Preview, and having the re-enter the entire listing.

2) Trying to find somewhere that would allow me to enter my description in html--all my descriptions are in html.  In the description area, three clicks down, I found a small-print link saying "Show html".   That was confusing.  I didn't want to "show" html, I wanted to put some in the description box.  Then I thought "This is eBay", so I figured, confusing or not, this must be the link I was looking for.  It was.

3) It took a great deal of time to correctly display my 2 shipping options in the order I wanted them to display.  That Shipping section is a confusing mess.

Question:  Why didn't I send these comments to eBay via the Send Us Feedback (or whatever) link as I got ready to post my item?

Answer: Because I was afraid that that link was like the Preview link--a no-return dead end, and I didn't want to have to do my entire listing for the third time.

Note:  My photos were loading (via drag & drop from desktop) at the same speed.

Unfortunately, I was on a Zoom with eBay this AM & asked a member of the new listing tool team if they were toying with the idea of letting people use the old listing tool, which was so much better & the answer is no.  They told me the old tool is on an old technology platform, so they must be moving away from it.   They did however say that they are aware of the postings on here & are constantly improving it.

Your best bet is to post specifics about what you don't like & to use the feeback link to give SPECIFIC info on what is causing you problems.   Those links DO work, I have been contacted numerous times by eBay in regards to things I submitted via the links.

I did run into the preview issue, once. Have not tried that again.

For shipping, I just select the preferred business policy for the listing, just like before.

Still using the same listing template I used from the previous tool.

I hated it at first, now it is better and I prefer it (eBay has fixed some of the kinks, hope they can them all....lol).

@platesmasher

Ah, now I understand your lack of issues and why the new tool is easy for you.

My stuff is all single quantity, and I will likely never have that particular item again.  I have literally hundreds of templates stored in a folder on my desktop.  I chose one fairly close to what I'm going to list, modify that template, and copy-paste the html into the description box (now that I've located that "show html" link--I hope they don't eliminate it or move it).

I can't use a business policy because I use a variety of shipping types, box sizes, box weighs, etc.  I have to specify shipping for each individual item.

I wonder if Preview works correctly for anyone?

I have given specific feedback multiple times and never heard a word from ebay.  And I did select the option advising they could contact me.
