I believe you can cancel as long as there are more than 12 hours left? It's not really the ethical thing to do, but I guess you can. Next time be sure to start at the least you can let it go for, and double check everything as soon as it goes up so you can change it before you get bids. Canceling it now is just going to irritate the person bidding on it. If there is a long time to go your item might end up with more bids, a lot of the time people bid more toward the end of an auction.

So if this 4 foot blacklight sells for $29 with free shipping, have you given any thought as to how you would ship it? You have to plan better BEFORE you list. Starting something like this at $20 with free shipping is not a good idea. And when you list an auction, whatever time you list it will be the time it ends (5, 7, or 10 days later). I wouldn't expect much in the way of last minute bids when the auction ends at 3:30 AM ET.
Your best option to get out of it would be to cancel the bids, and cancel any new bids that come in before it ends. Not a nice thing to do, but you will lose money on this if it sells for $29, maybe even if it sells for $50.
And I kind of doubt a new seller's ability to properly pack a 4 foot fluorescent bulb with fixture to arrive safely.
Gotta work on that pre-listing planning.

@mvs2910gia-6, as long as there are 12 or more hours left on the listing before it sells, you can end the auction it. To do so:
eBay will charge you a fee for ending a listing in this way.
When you relist the item you might want to NOT use a Reserve on your auction as eBay charges an additional fee when you use a reserve. ($5.00 or 7.5% of reserve price, whichever is greater (maximum fee $250).
You'd be better off starting your auction at an opening bid that is the lowest price that is acceptable to you to receive. That way if all you get is one bid, you will still be happy with the outcome.
You also might want to rethink offering free shipping if indeed the item is the blacklight. No doubt it will weigh over a pound when packaged so it would need to be sent Priority Mail (or another comparable service) all of which factor not only weight but distance shipped into the calculation of shipping cost meaning it could cost you almost as much to ship as you received from the sale.
