Hello All!
I hope everyone is doing well and appreciate any help I can get with this. I am adept at creating any type of listing, understand the promotions, etc, etc except 1. I know how to create the listing with variations but when I try to create an associated promotion the only ones that shop up are the buy 2,3,4 or more % off each item promotion. I want to create a buy 1 get 1 promotion on the different variations. As an example I have 10 variations and qty of 5 each. I would like the buyer to be able to just add (2) to the cart and get the second one for free. I know I could just put in there to ask for an invoice and provide remove the cost of the second item. I would prefer if this could be done automatically and not be a pain to the buyer who is ready to buy. Am I creating the variation listing wrong or just completely missing something? I have searched and searched and alas have come to the wise members of the Ebay forum. Thanks again for taking the time to read my cries for help.
Take Care !

Hi, from Seller Hub go to Promotions > Create a promotion > Create an order discount > Quantity.

Do what @popblox says, change both of those numbers to “1” so it’s buy 1, get 1…
Make sure you correctly link the promo to your listing. Sometimes it also takes awhile for the promo to index itself into your affected listings… live waited up to 5+ hours before.
Also just a really important tip about using this promo. If done correctly, your promo will say “BUY 1, GET 1 FREE (add 2 to cart)”. You will get MANY MANY MANY buyers who get confused and order incorrectly. They will just order 1 item (not adding 2 to cart) and expect you to send them 2. But you can’t send them 2 because you don’t know what their choice is for the second free item. This causes problems and false SNADs (believe me, I know by experience since I use these promotions a lot). And eBay refuses to remove these false SNADs.
Good luck.

Yes, and they'll also buy 2 items on 2 separate transactions on 2 different days and then email you and say "I bought 2 items but you charged me for both! How do I get a refund for the 2nd item that's supposed to be free??"

So I have a buy 4 get 1 free (add 5 to cart) promo on some items. I had a buyer who bought 3 things last year in different months. He then bought one more thing this year. Then he messages me and tells me which item he wants me to include with his purchase (5th free item). I refuse then he files a SNAD. The SNAD remains til this day.
I think I had this happened to me with 3 different buyers thus far.
