I sell brand new Pokémon cards that have never been played. I have been selling these for many years. They come out of the pack and get put into a sleeve and a hard loader for protection. I have always listed the cards as NEW. As well as the thousands of other sellers on here. I went into my listings today and it shows this symbol - for the condition of the product. I go in and edit the product post and it won't let me change the condition to NEW. The NEW option isn't even in the drop down. It's only this symbol - and USED. What's going on? Did I miss a memo? This also happened with a PSA graded baseball card I had as well. What do I do?

and apparently this is a glitch they are still working on
@letsgetnerdy
It is not a glitch. It is intentional. As explained to you upthread, eBay considers the individual cards taken from a new pack as USED. They have no intention of including "new other". They won't let you list unless you pick USED. Everyone else will have to pick USED as well when making listings going forward or when they auto renew.
Just use the "condition box" and your item description to explain the status of 'from new pack, immediately placed in sleeve" or whatever terminology is appropriate to your product.

When I view your items the Pokémon cards show as new. So I'm not sure why you are getting that message.

Nope. Still shows used with no option to select NEW.

I've read that CS has said ebay doesn't consider the cards new since the pack has been opened and the cards removed.

Not sure if it applies here but I have found some things can't be listed as new unless a UPC code is provided.

I Have Aways Been Told Once Out Of Package
its is no longer new

If that's the case then I don't understand how in 10 years of selling on ebay this wasnt changed long ago. With pokemon cards, most people use them to play. If it comes straight from a package into a top loader/sleeve then I don't see why it can't be listed as new.

Unfortunately sports cards or majority of trading cards don't have UPC codes.

Update 6/14/21: I contacted ebay via phone and apparently this is a glitch they are still working on. If anyone else has this problem, it would be nice to know.

I have the same problem, only "USED" as a condition I can pick.

Then why out of the 3 times I have contacted eBay that they did not say that? All 3 times they said it was a known glitch that was being worked on. I've been selling on there for a very long time and now they decide to change this? Do you have a policy link?
07-23-2021 01:35 AM
Starting to think this isn't a glitch and that they are trying to get us to just accept a new policy.

yes. I think so

EBay customer support does not know anything. They get scripts and beyond that most of the CS know nothing about.
Also when you list lets say specific card from specific pack just add code of the pack on the listing from which card was pulled.
