Hey Everyone,
Yesterday a potential Buyer reached out to me stating that they got the following error when attempting to purchase my item. "Unfortunately, this seller will not ship this item to AZ, United States. Here is what you can do. Update your shipping address and try again. You can find similar items from another seller."
Since I am a US seller, I thought this was odd.
I spoke with eBay and was told that the system was recognizing the Buyer's address as a PO Box even though it wasn't one. So, I was told to "disable the excluded location for PO Box for this item or disable the immediate payment then ask the buyer to 'Request a total' so that you can send them an invoice and for them to proceed with the checkout."
After making this change, the Buyer was able to pay. I didn't even need to have them cart the item and "Request a total". They were able to pay right away.
However, today I've had about 5 people send me the same message about another item I am selling. So, I made those changes to that item (and every item I am selling) but it didn't seem to help them.
Ebay rep told me that there are other Sellers that are dealing with the same problem and that they will add my name to a list of affected Sellers.
Is anyone else dealing with this? Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
God Bless,
Travis

Are you shipping via UPS or FED EX? That could be a problem if customer has PO BOX.

I don't think it has anything to do with a PO BOx. It's a glitch plain & simple. I've experienced it before, but it was months ago. This glitch has come & gone before. Went away in a few days, but yeah, really annoying to have all these potential buyers asking why you won't ship to insert-state-name-here.

This intermittent problem has been going on for 15 months now. It is sometimes fixed by sending the seller an invoice. Not only should eBay not have problems receiving payments (especially when this payment error has been happening over such a long period of time), but eBay also should NOT send erroneous messages to buyers saying the seller does not ship to the buyer's location when the seller does ship to their location. I have experienced this problem too many times, both as a buyer and a seller.

The OP ships via USPS and does block PO Boxes on the several listings I looked at.
They report if they remove the PO Box block the buyer can pay.
Seems to me they may be related.

I am currently experiencing this very issue. I had 2 different customers advise in the past 3 days that they were unable to purchase an item as I do not ship to their state. I contacted Ebay when the first potential buyer messaged and was told that buyer needed to contact ebay as it wasn't on my end. The potential buyer this morning was kind enough to send me the message she received upon trying to check out. Immediately contacted ebay again and was told this was an issue other sellers were experiencing. A ticket number was created.
After reading the few replies here, I am even more deeply concerned.
