Very sorry you fell prey to this old scam. Sometimes new sellers selling high dollar items get targeted because they are less likely to know how to protect their interests. How much was the item worth?

Your feedback profile states you are living in the country of Georgia. Are you still registered there on your eBay account?

As for contacting the authorities, i am afraid you are out of luck. There is nothing they can do for you. The best thing you can do now is take this as a learning lesson. Before you sell another item, you need to read up on eBay’s rules and policies. And do come to the forum with any questions. Tthere are people here who can help guide you thru the murky waters of ecommerce.

@wedostore

It may not have been the actual buyer that won and paid for your listing that messaged you.

Many times, scammers search items which have recently sold...

and look for expensive items recently sold by new, low feedback sellers.

They next claim (lie) that they are the buyer.. and tell you to send it to a different address.

So.. after a seller does this.. the real buyer, of course, opens an Item Not Recieved.... because they didn't get what they paid for.

And eBay takes the money from you, because your true buyer, never got it.

I'm sorry,

Lynn

Buyer scam

Just curious, does it complicate things to be an "indian american, moved to amerika 2 years ago"  and having an ebay account in the country of Georgia? How does that work?
