Hi. Yesterday a buyer requested to return an item, saying it is the wrong size. The size tag was in it, and the measurements were included in the listing. Do I have any choice here? Also, if I accept the return, do I pay the return shipping? Thanks for your help.

@coldcollation
If the buyer used a "not as described" reason from the return menu and put in the comments 'wrong size', you need to accept the return and provide the return shipping.
What you have in your description when a "not as described" reason is chosen does not matter. It is not required that the buyer provide any documentation or even if they are simply lying so they can return it on you dime.
If your buyer chose a "remorse" reason from the dropdown return menu and you accept returns, you accept the return for any reason. If you chose the return policy option of "buyer pays returns", they will have to return on their dime.
If your policy is "no returns" you will have the option to deny returns for "remorse" reasons, but NOT for any "not as described" claims.

Ask the buyer to open a return case with 'does not fit' as a reason. eBay will supply her a label (remorse/doesn't fit is buyer pays return). I tell my buyers who are returning that it's cheaper and easier for them to do it this way, which it is. If they don't have a printer, they can download the QR code to their phones (most people have one) and have it scanned for a label to be printed at the post office.
Even having size label and measurements don't guarantee fit so if you sell clothing you'll get a 'does not fit' return from time to time.
ETA: When I was a 'no returns' seller I would still accept a return if a buyer contacted me and asked because something didn't fit, looked awful on them or whatever, but that's just how I did it.

Thanks for both of your replies and perspectives.
Ebay online chat advised that I could refuse the return since I have a no returns policy and the buyer chose a remorse reason (which I did not understand till I read your notes). I asked what would happen when she left negative feedback, and the support person said it could be removed.
She of course left negative feedback. I asked to have it removed and am waiting to see if that happens.
Appreciate the advice, and best to you both.

Ha, what a surprise. Ebay won't remove the feedback. Is it worth responding?

I don't see a neg on your record...

Hi, the neg is on my selling account. I use this one for buying. Thanks...

Ah, gotcha 😉

Probably because you got overseas call help.
If you got a negative for not taking the return, that is "easily" removable since you didn't offer a return for the item.
The hard part is getting ahold of a USA based CSR that has the authority to do it.
