Hello
I just recently sold a computer part earlier this month through eBay. The payment was received but I noticed that the address was a freight forwarder in Delaware. The item was shipped and successfully delivered
However, two days ago the buyer filed a SNAD case claiming the box was empty. I went ahead and contacted the freight forwarder directly and they have responded back to me, confirming that this package was indeed forwarded to the buyer.
From my understanding, ebay's MBG is voided if they use a forwarder. However, I know it's typically hard to prove that a buyer used a forwarder. However, since I have written proof (plus pictures of the parcel from the company), do I have any ground to stand on? Furthermore, what should I do about the return?

Hi, Pikabo!
I agree with you... clear as mud and just a confusing mess! We don't often get an Ebay employee joining the thread like this, which shows just how confusing an issue it really is.
There are so many areas where things could go sideways really fast.
That's why I will not even go into the freight forwarding arena. Sometimes I'm tipped off by the ethnicity of the buyer's name, but I take just 5 seconds out on every US sale to click on their feedback number to see if they are international and using a US freight forwarder to get in the middle and potentially gum things up. If that's the case, I'll cancel the bid using "problem with buyer's address" to avoid a metric demerit, refund their money, and send an honest and courteous message of explanation. All without shipping. Then I relist the item.
I sleep better at night, and still have healthy sales without unnecessary risks.. but then, that's just me.
Cheers, Duffy

Seven pages, a blue and still no definitive answer to "are we protected like the MBG says?"
This is the most ebay thing ever.

Over a year later...still clear as mud.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a buyer pays and you cancel the order, you get pinged for the 'merchant' fees both ways (purchase and refund)? Might still be the best move, but you still lose money when a buyer circumvents international sales block?

Their excuse was that the buyer might simply work at the forwarding center and get their mail there, or that they could be on vacation and having their mail sent to a forwarder to be held.
With proof that the order was indeed forwarded, you may have some recourse. This of course depends on eBay caring enough to even glance at the proof before deciding. I would personally contact eBay For Business on Facebook with the situation and evidence.

The buyer is not entitled to an international return label. The return label will be to the forwarder location where the buyer had it delivered, and then it will be up to the buyer to get it from whatever country they are in to the American forwarding company.
