Bundled items per customer request, someone else bought and paid for them. Good sale as far as I am concerned but.. the original customer keeps requesting I cancel other persons sale because I promised it to them. My question is there a way to prevent this in the future? I put the user name of person first in listing and told them when I listed the bundle it was a good deal and someone else jumped right on it. I don’t want a bad review from them as I did sell them something else I hate having an unhappy customer. What else could I have done.

Most will just list at a really high price no one would pay with Best Offer enabled and have the promised buyer make an offer at the agreed on price, which you accept.

The original buyer should have simply put all items in their cart and requested an invoice.
Cancelling the other sale wouldn’t be right.

How exactly did this "bundling" occur? Did you make a NEW listing for your buyer, and delete the others?

Were "offers" involved that you perhaps accepted?

Yes, don't "promise" anything to anybody before you've received payment.

What are you hoping to prevent?

A) Are you hoping to prevents others from buying your eBay listing?

B) Or are you hoping to prevent your buyers from having the expectation that they have exclusive rights to an eBay listing?

I think you should focus on preventing B), rather than A).

"I will post that listing at 10 AM on Dec 30th and message you a link to it. But please understand that I cannot restrict the listing to just you, so if you want this incredible deal you will need to be quick!"

This would be a good method as long as the bundle is not assembled by breaking up existing lots and recombining them.

It would also be a good idea IF the request total option is available!

It's never available via the app (over 50% of all eBay sales) and it's randomly not available on the desktop version of eBay.

You can Block the original unhappy buyer and refuse communication, although I believe they can continue to leave Messages for 30 days after their last completed transaction.

I tell my buyers who request this, to simply purchase and pay for all the items at the regular price using eBay's shopping cart, and after I gather them all and figure the combined shipping savings, I'll immediately rebate their savings. Sometimes I'm even able to figure out the shipping savings or % at the time the first buyer contacts me with the request. Works every time by keeping things simple and avoiding the time and effort to make a new listing that other buyers may pounce upon.

The idea is to make sure the original buyer actually commits to the items by purchasing them and removing them from being active on eBay.

If the items can be combined in one shipment I will first determine the new shipping cost while I create the new listing. I will add Best Offer to the listing, so the buyer will know this total cost, and I will inform the buyer that I am placing a crazy high price on the new listing so no one else buys it, and all he has to do is make an offer at our agreed upon price and I'll accept.

While it is certainly possible a problem could arise, I've never had a problem doing this, and my buyers have always come through with the payment for the bundle.
