Boxing Day

Anyone get sales here today? Still moribund here. On the other hand sales (books and media) on Amazon have roared back with a vengeance so I am relieved at least on that score.

Re: Boxing Day

Yes I did, even two books.

Not a deluge but after a really slow weak it feels like there is some life.

No discernible pattern in what has sold.

Glad you are seeing action somewhere.

Re: Boxing Day

My plan is to start seriously listing auctions later in the week so they end after the holiday period, then assess.

Re: Boxing Day

Mmm... Hmm...  Two TooTooDay and still five hours left for the other 498 to come in.  But if those dont make I will attribute it to Universal reverselling filing a petition against Santa as I hear there is no union on the North Pole.  In fact when people try they freeze together.

Probably people like me, who bought 3 books on AMZ this morning.

Re: Boxing Day

Just curious, were those books you were hoping to get for Christmas but didn't so you bought them for yourself? Or just in general  now that gift giving is over you are buying for yourself?

My orders ran the gamut today but skewed a little towards recent hardcover fiction so maybe people are looking for some reading material.

In years past January saw strong book sales including books for college students. So I am interested to see if that trend continues.

Re: Boxing Day

A few this morning but quiet as a mouse the rest of the day, much like the rest of the 4th quarter today...

Re: Boxing Day

Yep. More to the point I also made sales on Sat, Sun and Mon even though those items could not ship until today (12/26). Interestingly many of them were specifically Christmas decorations and theme specific items.

Obviously they were not intended for a 12/25 celebration but they will be delivered in time for the Jan 7 celebration.

I find that I usually sell Christmas stuff all the way through into mid-February or so. People are still in the holiday spirit, I guess.

Re: Boxing Day

I often sell a lot of Christmas stuff the last week of Dec and into January.

Strangely this year I've been selling Easter stuff all year.

Re: Boxing Day

2 online sales on Christmas Day so I expected something today.  Did not happen.  Ended a record 11-day selling streak on Marketplace.  I think it will be a decent winter.

Nice ride you have going. As long as the weather holds and the White Walkers don't start trucking across the lake, sales should sustain.

Re: Boxing Day

I sold most of what  little I had in Christmas books.  Yesterday  morning I got a bid on a small lot of Christmas books and ended it for the bidder. Late in the day I did the same for a re-listed lot.  Many people here think this practice is nuts but most of my auctions get just the one bid anyway and I figure why not surprise the lone bidder and sell to them early.

Re: Boxing Day

I've been known to do that myself back when I was running auctions.
