Does anyone here know what the eBay "backend team" does? We requested an increase in selling limits. Answered 3 security questions correctly, was put on hold for a long time. The agent said that we couldn't have an increase today, that she was referring us to the "backend people". Then we were told we would be contacted within 24-48 hours by e-mail to explain what their answer would be and why.

Not a term that CS would normally use, how did you contact them?

Backend teams have more authority that CS on the phones. Probably means you aren't really eligibile for the increase, but something made the CS think you might be given one. just a guess........

Thanks for replies. Only been at this since June. Still have a lot to learn.🙂

Hope they give it to you. Holidays are coming, we can all use a little boost.
Others have had success reaching out on social media to e-Bay CS and been given incremental limits. You might try that.
Good luck!

Yay! They sent e-mail to let us know they raised it.
Thank you for taking time to answer my questions. 😊

I could comment, but it wouldn't be politically correct, & might get me sent to time out, or booted off for good.

HOW CAN WE SPEAK TO THE BACKEND TEAM. EBAY HAS BEEN ILLEGALLY WITHHOLDING MY FUNDS FOR ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN DELIVERED FOR OVER A MONTH. I NEED TO SPEAK TO THE BACK END TEAM.

LOL!! I was thinking along those same lines!

This is an old thread from 2021. If you have any concerns or issues, start your own thread to get the help you need for YOUR specific issues. PS eBay holding funds is not illegal. A class action lawsuit or what ever won't help you. You agreed to these terms when you signed on to sell here.

Common practice to hold payments for up to 30 days for "infrequent" sellers per written eBay policy.
Illegal is in the eyes of the beholder.
Funds should be released after a bit if there are no issues preventing such.
