Auto pay deactivation

I am just getting back into selling after about a 3-4 year break. Apparently they added this auto pay thing to my account without my knowledge or consent. How do I deactivate that? Everything I have googled doesn't seem to work and customer service is no help at all!

eBay doesn't need your consent to make changes.

You need to go to your Buyer Management page to uncheck payment required for bidding and making offers.

If you had no knowledge of this, you apparently did not read all the notifications and announcements and user agreement updates that eBay sent to you during those 3-4 years.
