Auction questions

I'm new to selling and I had an auction with no international shipping. A buyer from Canada asked if I would ship to Canada and he would pay $25 dollars for "slow shipping". I messaged him that I would look into it but was unclear on his purchase price and that I would see how the auction went. So it is showing that he won the auction but I never said I would ship internationally???? How did he win the auction?

You should tell him no.

If you only ship to the US, then stick to that.

As a new seller, you should stick to that.

You should have blocked him.

You are setting yourself up for a world of hurt if you think that making shipping exceptions is a good idea.

He won because you didn't block him and you don't have your shipping set up properly. Not all blocks are because a buyer is being obnoxious. Some are just to protect you as a seller from unwanted purchases.

Cancel the sale. I think there is a buyer lives in a country or region I don't ship to.

And block him

Shipping to Canada is not cheap plus it needs a customs form if it is a big item.

Maybe one the moderators here can tell you if you take a hit on this if you cancel the sale.

I believe there is a " buyer lives in a country or region I don't ship to" reason that would not produce a defect.

Double check your listings.

If you don't ship outside of the US, a buyer in Canada should not have been able to bid/buy your item.

You are free to decline or cancel for an address you do not ship to with no penalty.  However, if you want to consider shipping, best to use USPS as it has no extra brokerage charges for the buyer.  If you decide to ship, either revise the listing if not purchased yet, or click on Send Invoice and add a Canadian shipping option and cost.

I don't ship international directly and block everyone who asks me to because I don't want to deal with them trying to circumvent the system.

I usually just answer with something like "Sorry, boss says US only, it is out of my hands".

I used to sell internationally but stopped. You basically kiss your item goodbye when you have a problem.
