Appeals

So how about those appeals guys?

I want to know how appeals are going for any sellers out there.  From my experience, an eBay appeal is a joke that doesn't do any good.  I had someone return a lego item and stole all the minifigs.  Ebay's response to the appeal is that I don't get to have an appeal and that the buyer is justified to steal from us because if they stand up to them, Paypal or their credit card company will give them their money back and its better to get something back then nothing at all.

So we are not back to the age where someone can swap out cubic zirconium for diamonds again and eBay will not protect sellers.  Then on top of that, if you are in managed payments, get prepared to have a 5% increase on your fees because you screwed up.

So for the record, there is no Appeal process.  It is a bold face lie that eBay customer service will tell you every time.  Do not fall for it.  It is a trap.

That is not exactly how it works. Ebay has no way to verify that the buyer took a few of your items from your lego set. What they will do though is keep track of the buyer's claims so if it continues they can boot the buyer.

Appeals

The appeals process rarely, and I mean very rarely decides in favor of the seller.  It is usually not even worth the time involved.  That is why I tend to stick to selling lower priced items with high margins, items that I am willing to give up or simply abandon when any dispute arises.  I just report the buyer and move on.
