In addition to the fall seller udpate, there have been direct solicitaions. Apparently there were not enough voluteers.

This option is soooo inconsistent with eBay's recent obession with preventing off-eBay transactions!!

I think this is done so sellers won't be able to block annoying or fradulent buyers, or screen buyers in general. If a buyer calls you, they won't give you his/her eBay ID, so you wouldn't know whom to block. I will never give my real phone number to eBay - with the abundance of scammers and just plain crazy people it's ridiculous just to think about them calling you day and night.

I would get he exact opposite response. My buyers always assume my items come with things not listed or pictured. Plus I think this opens the field up to more returns and negative feedback.

Too much trouble for me. My phone (a landline) is in the other room. I don't answer any calls that I don't recognize the number so the buyer would have to send me a message first in Ebay Messages to tell me they would be calling me and give me their phone number. Then I may or may not be home or near the phone or even feel like running to the other room to answer the phone. Nope, I don't think I'm interested in this.

Haha exactly but if only I had a filter 😉 could that call go this way. I can’t tell u how many times I’ve asked myself, “Is this @#$&$% kidding right now”. So ya....no I won’t be participating but thnx for the offer.
