Do not download when you call the ebay number for assistance!!!!!! I feel so violated they had me logging into my bank account, looked through my photos, and were speaking another language between the 2 men I communicated with. When I told them I was contacting my bank- they hung up on me!
They told me I had red flags on my account and they needed me to download the anydesk app to remove the flags. I don’t have any red flags at all!

You just got hacked by a fake eBay rep: contact bank and any financial info that may be one your device.
You need to take your device to some one that knows how to remove back door that was most likly inserted in to your device. You never should let some on into your device remotely.
Most likely your ebay will be hacked as well, and any thing else they asked you about.

Never Never use a phone number on the internet to call eBay.

Where did you get that phone number?

He probably searched on-line for the number and picked the first one he found. eBay has its own way to contact them.

I called that fake customer service too, the phone number comes up on Google. He asked me to download the app TeamViewer QuickSupport. I did download the app but didn't give him the 9 digit pin number which he was calling my "case number" but it's actually the remote code. I hung up and uninstalled the Quick support app.

run full virus and malware scanner after updating it. Just by allowing the app to download:
it may have also placed other stuff on your system.

Scammers buy fake ads on eBay pretending to be eBay help.

Would be better off just reformatting and installing from scratch. You'll never know for sure if you got everything and virus/malware scanners can only catch so much.
To OP. In the time being. Be sure to change passwords and whatnot from a different computer.

Where did you get the "eBay number for assistance"?
Did you Google and call whatever number some random website told you was eBay's number?

Here is one thing I will say, eBay should do its part to be a bit more informative when it comes their customer service. Their Help & Contact tab on their webpage is perfectly visible, but once you clicked through, you have to scroll al the way to the bottom to get to the "CONTACT US" tab where you are greeted with a menu of multiple choices before you finally get to a CHAT SCREEN.
They should at the very least provide a notification right at the beginning indicating that they wont provide a Phone #, but instead, to chat with them and leave a notification for the call back. Heck, even with today's technology, I find it odd that they don't have some sort of VOIP messaging # where you can leave a message and then it is transferred to an email to their customer service desk where, the attendants can deal with them.
Instead, some users, like the OP, just go to Google to find an 800#, call, and then get prompted to download some intrusive app, that will open Pandora's box in their computer.

Do you have anti-virus software on your laptop or whatever computer you were on when you downloaded the app? If yes, run it asap as soon as you uninstall the app you downloaded by the scammers.
Once you have, add a "duo" feature to your login and please change all passwords when you do. Set it up so it has to have it call you or text you a code. We have the same on our phones. I would freeze whatever credit card is associated with your account (you can unlock it when you need to) and I would let your bank that has the account tied to your e-Bay know that you want a fraud alert on the account that you may have been compromised. Better safe than sorry - they will text you or call you to complete transactions for a bit, but it is better than fraudulent activity on your bank account or credit card.
Act quickly - these scammers sure do!

No need for you to come here and provide any warnings to people here. You never called Ebay and you got scammed. It has nothing to do with Ebay or any other users.

Thanks for the heads up ... but I don't think many of us here would fall for that.

I did the scan and nothing was detected.
There were a few red flags when I called the fake number: for one, I was surprised to get through to someone so fast, usually you have to wait. Also the guy wanted my first and last name and email address to verify my identity, I only gave part of my email. I told him I had a question about my seller payout and he kept calling it a refund, so that was another red flag. Then he wanted to know how I wanted refund sent, cashapp, zelle, etc. But I don't have any of those set up on my ebay account. After I downloaded the quick support app and he wanted the access code, I told him I would call back later and he gave me another number to call, said it was his direct line (332) 333-6742. About 2 hours later my phone rang and that 333 number was on my caller i.d. but I didn't answer
