I noted that others sellers had made comments in various posts about not having to buy shipping supplies because sales were slow. I have a similar but different problem. My sales like many others have slacked off, and views are down. Over the years I have made contacts with local B&M business, some large and some small that save boxes and packing material for me. This really helps with costs, and helps lesson the items I do have to purchase. The problem is that sales have been so bad that I am running out of places to store the stuff. I don't want to tell the business to stop so I just keep going to pick the stuff up. At current I have a car load of bubble wrap and boxes and no place to put it. Hence the title of my post, what an odd problem. It speaks volumes for the sales slow down.

I agree that you do not want to tell them to stop as that will affect the future when sales pick up. (Yes, the sun'll come out tomorrow)
But surely some of the boxes and wrap are in better conditions than others. So weed out the shoddy. Recyclers pay money for cardboard. It's not a lot but it is better than just hoarding them or tossing them out. Think of that money as just another sale - one that doesn't have to be shipped. And one that will never be INR or INAD,

You could also advertise on Next Door, craigslist or freecycle and let people know you have some shipping/packing supplies available (maybe post a couple of pics), and leave them outside so you don't have to take calls or greet people at the door (if you'd like to just give them away). Once they're gone, take down the post or change it to let people know it's all gone.

You could selectively ask "some" to stop holding supplies for you.
or, as suggested, be selective about what you retain.
no cash for recycling cardboard here, but easy to drop at the transfer station for recycling. One location that I use does not allow recycling unless "paying" to drop garbage/trash on the same visit, but another has no restriction, so from time to time I weed out a bit. Sometimes it's just scraps left from building a custom box.
