Amazon disclosure

I enjoy Ebay as an alternative to Amazon, which I will not use. To my horror, my last Ebay order came directly from Amazon. Sellers must be required to disclose that they are doing that.

I tried for years to be a loyal eBay buyer, but have learned that for pretty much any new consumer item, if you buy it here, its going to be drop-shipped from Amazon or Walmart. And you will pay significantly higher prices.

I learned to just cut-out the middleman.

I ordered an item last week from a Walmart market place seller and it was shipped from Amazon. Lots of people doing that now.

If it came marked as a "GIFT," then the seller was violating eBay policy by drop-shipping from a retailer.

But if it did not say "GIFT," the seller was simply using FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon," which is okay with eBay.  That means the seller owns the merchandise and is simply paying Amazon to warehouse and ship it.

I imagine you can report the seller, if it came as a "GIFT."

Some sellers use the Amazon fulfillment service (FBA).  Their product is stored at the Amazon warehouses and shipped from there to satisfy orders from various platforms.  They pay a fee for this service.  The practice is a allowed by eBay. 

What is NOT allowed is a seller who purchases the item from Amazon and has it shipped to you after the fact, as in it is not their merchandise in the first place.

Drop shipping from AMZ is supposed to be banned on ebay! Do report any seller doing this to ebay as they are not supposed to. Further if you request a return on the drop shipper they will probably find refunding you easier as how would they organize a return? Leave them a negative and state they don't own the product they are advertising for sale.  So at least other buyers can see they are drop shipping from the neg.

   This may or may not apply to this particular OP's concern:

   Many Ebay sellers, including myself, will use recycled boxes to ship their Ebay sales. And the amount of single-use Amazon boxes are really plentiful in our society. 

    When I reuse a perfectly good Amazon box, I send a message to the buyer that their item will be coming in a recycled Amazon box, so they will know it is still from me and not Amazon, and that they will think I am a good boy and "environmentally responsible" by recycling.

 Indeed.  If I have the chance to reuse shipping supplies, I'm going to do it, especially since I really don't have the money to throw at a lot of new packaging.  If Amazon or Walmart (looking at listing something now I'm planning on using one of their boxes for) gives me a free box, then that's a benefit to me in my ebay sales.  I don't send a message like this, but generally it's a win-win for all parties in my book if I can reuse the stuff that comes into my orbit.

For the OP's concern, usually you have to look for Amazon invoices.  But agreed, there should be a disclosure if sourcing is different than what is in your current possession (and all stuff I sell is).

You can tell what sellers are doing that. Just look at what they sell and look at their feedback. Don't buy from those kind of sellers

I always use old Amazon, Walmart, and Target boxes for my eBay orders. It makes the most financial sense for me: I get a free box, the customer gets their item. But I hope people don’t think I’m dropshipping. I guess I will have to start mentioning that in the messages.

Seriously as sad as this is; If I get my widget intact, on time and at a price I am happy with I do NOT care where it comes from.

Drop shippers? I try to avoid them but am at times duped..

Amazon boxes?  Could be a savvy box recycler could be they use Amazon fulfillment and it is their stock being shipped by a service ALLOWED on eBay to fulfill orders on eBay. 

If we reuse an Amazon box (and Lord knows I have a bazillion) do we really need to include a note that we have recycled the box?  Has it come to this?

If you required sellers that source their items from Amazon to disclose that in their listings, shouldn't sellers be required to disclose the source of their products in all listings?
