Hi guys,
I put my phone up for sale last night and was happy to wake up this morning to find out it was sold as somebody used the 'buy it now' feature. However after communicating with the buyer I am starting to question whether or not it is genuine.
He has emailed to sat that he has made the payment and requesting that I ship the item today however I have had no confirmation from ebay or Paypal that a payment is pending or been received. When someone makes a payment, how long does this take to appear in your paypal account?
To add to my suspicions I received an email from ebay which seems a little bit off. Please see the attachment and let me know what you guys think.
The delivery address changed from an address down in England to somewhere in California.
I hope I am wrong and this is genuine but I just want to be sure as it is an expensive phone.
Thank you and I look forward to your responses!

Paypal payments are typically immediate after the buyer hits send payment.
Unfortunately, I can't see or read your message in this post. One thing you can do is forward the message to spoof@ebay.com. You will receive an email back from eBay fairly quickly letting you know if this email really came from eBay. If they say it is fake, then you have the makings of a scam.
I would look one more time in your Paypay account to see if payment is there. You can also check your sold items section on your My eBay and it will show if it has been paid.
If not message the buyer and tell them you haven't received their payment and ask them to check to make sure their Paypal payment was sent.
The address you send to should be what is registered with eBay or you loose any protection that you have. It could be that they are wanting to send it to a freight forwarder. However, if it isn't the registered eBay address you loose your protection.
If your eBay email spoof check turns out it isn't a real email. I would cancel the auction and block the buyer and their messaging capability as this is most likely a scam.
You can check their feedback history also.
Since you are a new seller and are selling a high dollar item, scammers love to target newbies! Be very cautions on this one.
In my opinion, I would say it is a scam.
Hope this helps!

When I bring up your sold listings there is nothing there. So I doubt that your item has really been sold. Also, the wording in the Ebay notice regarding shipping is hilariously unlike anything that Ebay would send out. For example, Ebay would never use the pronoun "he" as the system would not know whether the buyer was a he, she, or even a they.

Thanks for the reply everyone, I cancelled the order and have relisted the item.

I cancelled the order and have relisted the item.
Just a word of caution. Be careful when using the "cancel" feature and what reason you select when doing so. I am sure "I got a crook sending phony payment emails" is not a choice in that dropdown.
Cancelling items inappropriately, may lead to a defect on your account that you don't want.

I don't want to sound insulting I mean in this to be helpful as I deal with this all day.
1.
E-mails addressed to Dear [Your e-mail address] - are scams.
Any legit company you deal with address you by your name.
2.
Check the sender e-mail. It will not be right.
3.
Check the english. "We have received a mail from the buyer of an e-bay item".
Should be We have received an e-mail.
4.
Generic information is a red flag.
No item number, no transaction ID, no naming of the buyer or seller.
Tell-tale sign this is an e-mail to scam people for any number of transactions.
E-bay will have all the details about the transaction. They will be specific.
5.
Be wary of any e-mail that reinforces priority, urgency or the validity of this fishy e-mail.
"He has given a clear reason why.."
Stay safe!

That spoofed email is so ridiculous it made me laugh!
"We received a mail..."
"...you will have to send the item as soon as possible."
"We urge you to send the item as soon as possible."
"Please note that the shipment of the item should be made according to the PayPal instruction so that you can have your funds as soon as possible."
The best...
"...we are of the opinion that the buyer is a genuine buyer." LOL!
Forward that email to spoof@ebay.
