Advice

Hi! So I've sold my item for $500, buyer isn't paying until the 1st of December. Of course I won't be shipping out my item until the money has been received. But I've go massive concerns of being scammed. I'll be using Direct Delivery as well as Signature Required on the package so there isn't a chance of rerouting the package somewhere and claiming it wasn't received, as they have to sign for it to pick it up, and then they can't claim they never got it. But with the minimum of 12 images allowed, I wasn't able to put a photo showing an accessory to the item on there, but I've explained it is with the item and I've listed any and all flaws I know of with the item, and even put in the description that they are required to ask for additional information and additional photos before buying. I did this to explain I wouldn't be responsible for them being ignorant and not asking for thorough details of the item, so they couldn't claim, "but I didn't know..." bull**bleep**. Is there anything else I need to worry about that they can possibly scam me with? Like, if for some odd reason they can't stand the item, will Ebay make them send it back before getting their money returned? It's a $1,200 item so...I'm really terrified of scam right now.

Re: Advice

While you can have a no return policy which would permit you to decline a return for buyer's remorse, it does nothing in the event of a not as described return.  If buyers were not permitted to return for refund not as described merchandise, they would have no alternative but to file criminal fraud charges against sellers that misrepresented their products.   Disclaimers or conditions that you may have added to the description are of very little use as a defense in cases of fraud when the goods do not match what is advertised.

When it comes to SNAD claims, eBay is pretty much in the position of not knowing who is correct, the buyer or seller.  It is something of a "he said, she said" situation and unfortunately, they usually decide that the buyer gets a refund and the seller gets their merchandise back, if they are willing to pay for the return.  Of course, this is usually something that consumer protection laws would mandate anyway.

Might I suggest that you review the terms of eBay's Money Back Guarantee before listing anything else?  It might save you a lot of grief in the future.

By the way, if you sold your item for $500, that is what it is worth in this instance and not $1200.  Even though that might be the MSRP or appraisal value.

Oh!  Almost forgot!  You can certainly send with a signature required but it isn't an eBay or PayPal requirement if the amount is under $750.  I would always suggest that you mention the signature requirement in the listing if you choose to use one under $750.

Well he’s an adult child of a friend who has now moved out. I may see him over the holiday though and I will ask. 🙄

I forgot about the Lisa Ling show.

Re: Advice

The CSI episode pretty much speaks for only 3 percent of us, we aren't all like that. Shows like that call us sex deviants and other awful things to put down our community. While a few furries do believe that their fursona is them, that's a small percentage. The people believing they are animals are Therians, not furries. Some furries are into that kinky stuff, mursuits and shizz, but really that's not even 30 percent of us. I do it because I enjoy being something else for a little while, escaping reality for even just a bit. Kids running up to you with these big smiles on their faces when they see a 'living' wolf is priceless, guaranteed. It's like anime cosplay, being a character you're not and taking on that personality for a little while.

Re: Advice

Direct delivery means that it goes where I tell it to, it means that the seller has no way to redirect the package without my knowledge or consent.

Re: Advice

I did say that upthread, that it only represented a small part of the community.

I'm not worried about you being a deviant, it's the buyer who will have your personal information.

I had a worrisome experience once with a board member who got my name and address through a Christmas card exchange. She posted a threatening post with information about my house she could only know if she had been there.  I actually ended up going to the police because she lived about 20 minutes away.

Re: Advice

If you have more pictures than the 12 pictures allowed in a listing there is a simple way to combine images. You open the 2 pictures in paint. Then on 1 of the 2 pictures double either the length or width. Then copy the image from the 2nd picture and past it into the blank are you created on the 1st and save.

Re: Advice

Whatever makes people happy that doesn’t hurt others is ok with me.  As I said I have an acquaintance who is a furry, gay relatives and know people who have transitioned. They are much better people when they can be their authentic selves.

whatever consenting adults do in private is their own concern.

also I have numerous furry animal onesies so I can understand how it might comfort people.
