There are 4 listings in my eBay store that have been designated by eBay as “adult only - requires verification”
None of these items can be found via eBay search. All four of the items are men's bowling shirts with 1940's style pinup girl art. None are sexually explicit with no nudity. "eBay defines nudity as male/female genitalia, anus, or female breasts where the areola or nipple is visible per eBay policies." None of these listings violates eBay policies.
One of the listings is an embroidered hula girl. She's wearing a bathing suit! How is this possibly explicit or offensive?
I have contacted customer support 4 times in the last month with assurances that the problem will be resolved. It has not been resolved. The CS said I would be contacted.... I have not.
I realize that the AI bots control the eBay world.....

brian@ebay Everything looks good! Again I can't tell you how much I appreciate knowing what the problem is. It's only 4 listings but the mystery was making me wonder if it was something I was doing wrong....
Take Care, Cheryl

Thanks again!
@ci1000 yes you can revise the listings now to say pinup instead of pin up. That should fix the issue.
I thought the bots ignored spaces... if we type something that has the end of one word and the beginning of another word spelling something naughty in feedback, we get a profanity warning. How is the bot able to distinguish the difference between pin up and pinup?

@sin-n-dex from what I've found out, 'pin up' shouldn't be causing items to be flagged as adult only. Our tech team is going to dig deeper into this to find out why it's happening.

I'm done with ebay's capricious, arbitrary and sometimes discriminating "adult" **bleep**
There is a much better website for selling such things -- it's called Adult Items Only dot com
