The one great thing about the new way eBay shows everyone the actual real views people get on their listings is that it shows us why sales are lacking.  It shows us all what the reality is about eBay.  How it has become a small time auction site instead of the active place it used to be.  Nothing better than posting a new item & finding out no one is there to open the page.  Hours or days can go by without anyone bothering to check out your items.  Occasionally, sure, something gets more views.  Yet, those items still sit there collecting dust.  I posted something & in a short time I got 3 views / 3 watchers.  This was over 2 weeks ago.  $7 listing.  3 watchers.  I guess it's just too **bleep** expensive.  lol  Be prepared for the "List items people want" replies.  Might be a few of those.  😛  Sorry - my inventory of gold & iPhones is pretty lacking.

Those concert tickets have a going rate of $6-10, which includes the shipping.  You are selling for $11 ($7 item plus $4 shipping).  You are selling from Canada - slower and more expensive.

Nope, there are a 1.4 billion items listed..........140,000 Active users..........do the math....

Sales are lacking this month for every platform.  School just started and people need to save for Xmas.  Columbus Day is the judge of the holiday season.  If it doesn’t pick up that weekend we are all in for a slow Xmas

@sakic92710  "The one great thing about the new way eBay shows everyone the actual real views people get on their listings"

I agree 100%. The bots skewed the data badly. Many bots are programmed to search "new", and so back then I was listing items that were quickly getting views (well, non-views, since they were from the bots) which gave me a false sense of the popularity of my long tail items. I am much happier with this new data, because it gives me a much more realistic view of what I'm listing----a real reminder that I do NOT generally list "hot" items, I list long tail, much of it way out there in the tip of the long tail, and it is unrealistic to expect a lot of views. My stuff is long tail. I don't need a lot of views, because some of this stuff, in the entire world, at any point in time, there might only be a handful of people who would really have any interest. Each long tail item? I just need one buyer...I've sold things after only a couple views.

It is a reminder that if I want higher sales velocity, I need to source and list stuff that has a broader buyer base.

So, for me, it has been a welcome dose of reality. Sure, it was nice seeing all those views when the bots were being counted, but it gave me a false sense of how much demand might exist for my items. I prefer reality.

I agree that ebay isn't what it used to be. Neither am I LOL. But to me, the important reality it is showing me is : "Here's what your long tail items look like without fake bot views." So, for me, it's less about the "realty of ebay" and more about the reality of my inventory. The easiest way to get more views would be for me to start sourcing and listing more in demand stuff.
