Hi
I am going to sell my very first item and would appreciate if anyone can tell whether the Auction style or the Fixed item style will be the best.

Depends on category, price, weight, cost, your interest in selling it fast, your interest in making a profit, and many other factors.

auctions do it all for me,they have for 20 years. a very good choice for a new sellers is to use buy it it now with immediate payment required.if you ever have any problems the people here are alwasy eager to help.
good luck selling

That is a little bit like me asking whether my business should purchase a lawn mower or a dump truck. You would probably want a little information about my business first.
"Auction vs fixed price" is a decision that should be made on an item-by-item basis based on the nature of the item, not as a blanket rule about which one is "best".
IMHO the auctrion format is best suited for items that have a strong overall demand that substantially exceeds the available supply.
When you auction an item with true demand that is in short supply, you stand the chance of competition driving up the price. Conversely, when you auction a common item that is widely available, you may only attract bargain-hunters hoping to pick it up for a song.

I would go with the bin with immediate payment, if your item is not one that is in high demand and short supply, especially since it your first sale.
Please read about saling and buying prior to listing. It is so important to go into it informed.
To your first sale and all those that will follow!
