Account Restricted?

I'm trying to list an item for sale, but when I attempt to put the listing in place it says my account is connected to another account that is restricted and won't permit me to list it.  I only have one account, and have never had any issues on it.  They say to check their messages, but there aren't any messages saying an account is restricted and I can't find anyone with the company to ask to resolve the issue.

You might want to ask other people closer to home/the office/dorm about their restriction status.

My account was once tied to an account in Slovenia or somewhere like that.  I had to argue common sense to them and it never really was clear how they decided they were linked.  Back then I got them to tell me the handle and was able to look at it and find out where it was and what it sold, I don't know if they will do that now. 

Typically what has happened is someone using the same IP address as you has had an account suspended or owes fees.  It's up to you, of course, to do the detective work to figure out who, or when.  

But it's worth trying to get them to call you in case it's an error.

As other have posted here, your IP address is used by ebay to indicate whether or not other accounts are linked to your account (or more like your address/household.)  If others have/had used your IP address in the past and have run into issues with eBay, it is going to reflect on your account since both accounts have used the same IP address.

It is yet another reason why one should never use someone else's IP address or allow anyone to use yours...and not to use a neighbor's unsecured wifi.  So many ties with an IP address...

They did call me, said they'd check and be back in a few minutes.  After 15 minutes the elevator music stopped and nobody ever came back on the line.  Thanks for the responses.
