Do you pay attention to all of the details when you list an item? You should if you think no one is finding your listings. I listed a postcard from Gulf Hills Country Club in Ocean Springs, MS. The artificial intelligence program filled in parts of the listing with Countries as the theme, and with Spring Hill as the city. Neither of these were remotely close to right,  and I can only conclude that this must affect searches in some way or this program would not be in use.  Better check your details as you list.

You are absolutely correct on always checking the item specifics / details of your item when you first list it.

I have to wonder if lack of item specifics oversight is part of the reason eBay search results often show items not even remotely close to what the buyer is searching for.

Also, always make sure when eBay notifies you to update item specifics that you do so asap and check the specifics already included in the listing.

Are you creating your listings on a computer or phone?

Often times those details are just suggestions that you can either ignore or click on to accept.  My problem is that when I actually try to edit those fields the listing page very slowly reloads and then reloads to another spot on the page and my must scroll to find the detail I was trying to edit. The new listing tool is chock full of such glitches when I use it.

This is especially prevalent if you try to save time and use the sell similar feature.

My thoughts exactly! Also if you scan a sku and select from the list, make sure the details match.

This is why they call it "artificial" intelligence.

Beware, the newer large language model AIs used by Google and others are not to be mocked.  Google fired a very high ranking employee for declaring that the large language model had reached sentience.  Now that statement is definitely a small minority view but it is a valid hypothesis and the more disconcerting aspect is that Google fired the guy for giving an opinion, begging the question of what is Google trying to suppress or hide.  Google, and others in the field (that does not include Ebay) also tend to downplay these model's association to the mathematical models that aim to mimic the brain's synapses.  The Borg are closer than you think and the major players such as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, are busy trying to deflect attention away from this reality.  Resistance is futile.

Extremely important if you list in categories such as cd's, dvd's, books, hardware and electronics. Especially anything with titles, years, measurements, sizes and colors. eBay's auto imaginary fill has very little to be desired!!
