I just got a 30 day selling restriction because:
The listing or product that was removed appeared to violate eBay policy. Please remember that you are responsible for the quality and authenticity of the products that you offer on eBay. It is against eBay policy to sell any counterfeit items.
- Past violations of policy- Photos are unclear or otherwise fail to represent the item.
Notice the word 'Appeared to'. I was NOT selling counterfeit items.
The photo was of a lipstick and I thought it was pretty good.
It is obvious to me that ebay is trying to get rid of me.
I don't know what to do anymore. It looks like I am finished because the next step is permanent and I have no idea how to stop it from happening. I have done nothing wrong, absolutely nothing.
Here is the email in it's entirely if anybody cares.
After reviewing your eBay account, we've taken the following actions:
- Selling privileges have been temporarily restricted. You won't be able to list new items or revise current listings for 30 days.

- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).

The one thing I notice and it’s probably unrelated but your pics are very dark and not on a white background. Get a white sheet and a couple cheap lamps for now.
You might be right. Unfortunately I am having some issues with my vision right now. I have an autoimmune disorder and lost my night vision and colors look different to me than they really are.
I may have to get someone to check all my photos for me from now on. What looks good to me may not look good to others.

I had the same thing happen. Now when someone says not authentic I just upload a picture of my receipt. I think some of these buyers just say that because they want you to give them the item and money. That is one scam that seems to be thick here on Ebay. Nothing really you can do. I have had 2 this week. Not authentic! Yeah when it came directly from the factory! Puhleese!!!🙄😊

The photo shows the lipstick open. Maybe ebay considers it used cosmetics, which is a prohibited item.

I had that happen with an eyeshadow on my other account. I had sold about a dozen over a 12 month period. I got down to the last one and she claimed it was fake. I assured her it was not, approved the return and waited. I never heard back from her and the return case was closed.
People just want something for free on here. Every time someone claimed damaged, it broke when they tried to use it or fake, they refused to return it on MY dime. That tells me one thing: Scam

I used to never open lipsticks. I only changed it because potential buyers wanted to see the color of it. And I noticed most other sellers were opening theirs, so I did too. It stopped all the questions about shade but in case you are right, I will stop opening them.

Did you have it label as sample size? Box has .03 oz

Yes, I always put the size if it's given and whether it's a full, travel or sample size. I put it in the title, item specifics and description.
I learned that the hard way years ago. Just putting the size doesn't work for some people. They need it in big bold letters and flashing. Some even need to be hit over the head with it.

Another member wrote "you can set up another ebay account..." It's a serious policy violation to open a second account to bypass a restriction on the first one. eBay can almost always tell it's the same person. If you operate from the same computer it's a slam dunk, because both accounts would have the same IPA. You could get suspended for life.

Yes I know that. I meant to point that out to that person and got sidetracked and didn't. It should be a nobrainer but I guess it isn't. Ebay usually puts that warning in their emails to not try and circumvent the suspension or restriction by opening a new account.

sorry to tell you, but ebay feedback is completely useless. i have 100% but it doesnt matter at all. this feedback model with ebay is absolutely ridiculous. sellers cant leave bad feedback about buyers, but sellers only need to call ebay to have negative feedback removed. the whole system is **bleep**.

I think I might just start doing that. I have only ever asked 1 buyer to send the item back. It was the ballet rose perfume. Then only because it happens to be my favorite so I thought ok, I will just keep it for myself. She never sent it back. 😏 I was just refunding and letting the buyer keep the item even though it is authentic and I have the receipts to prove. Just didn't want the hassle but maybe I should ask for the item every time. Lol yep that's what I am going to do! 🤗😋
