I just noticed that my gross sales figure on my 2024 PayPal 1099 is approximately $6000 higher than my eBay 1099 gross sales figure. I am a small seller on just the eBay platform. Could this be due to shipping? I usually use calculated shipping on my listings. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you! Margaret

Curious, what does Paypal have to do with eBay as far as sales go on the ebay platform?

Your 1099 from Paypal has nothing to do with your sales on eBay since PayPal is not used as eBay's payment processor.

If you received a 1099K from Pay Pal, that has nothing to do with your Ebay sales.

Thank you everyone. I am going to stick with the eBay 1099 for tax purposes. I’m not sure it’s accurate that PayPal and eBay have absolutely nothing to do with each other because looking at my PayPal transactions most of them are Ebay commerce Inc. payments for things that I have sold on eBay. However, I sometimes use PayPal to purchase other items so that is my best guess at the discrepancy.

do you mean you've BOUGHT items on ebay to sell on ebay and those paypal transactions are actually purchases by you?

If you see eBay commerce in your Paypal those are not your eBay sales those are things you bought.
Paypal does not collect your money from your buyers on eBay. eBay uses Adyen as payment processor to collect payments from your buyers
So unless you are selling somewhere else you didn't receive a 1099k from Paypal for your eBay sales.
