I opened an unpaid item case on one of my items because I had not received payment. The buyer then paid for the item and right after sent me a note saying that they no longer wanted to purchase the item and wanted to cancel the order. It appears as if I can't have 2 cases on one item and even though the unpaid item case is now closed, I am unable to cancel the transaction. I issued the buyer a refund, but would still like to cancel the transaction so that it shows correctly in my selling list, and also to receive my final value fees back. Any help would be appreciated!
I would contact eBay and let them know you had a UPI case, buyer paid only to immediately request you to cancel the order prior to shipping just to avoid a strike. Let them know you can't open a cancellation but have already refunded the buyer, ask them how you are supposed to complete the transaction so it will close, get your FVf's back and re-list. Hopefully you will get the right rep that might do a courtesy FVF refund, as buyer never planned on completing the transaction. Once they give you your FVF's back and you relist, archive the listing off your sold list.
That really was unfair, I'd also put that buyer on your BBL
Best of Luck
I have the same problem. Customer wants to cancel, I agreed and closed unpaid case. System still will not allow me to cancel. Customer is irrate because they think that I am jerking them around. Tried to call Ebay but they don't answer the phone within a respectable amount (15 min) of time. Selected to go have them call me and English is the rep's 3rd language.
eBay's system doesn't currently allow you to cancel if there has been an unpaid case opened, whether now closed or not. Not fair, but unless you deducted the fees yourself from the refund, nothing you can do now.
