Why must I sign into eBay every day, sometimes more than once per day?

For the last month or two I am being  logged out of my ebay account Every. Bloody. Day. This happens on Windows platform, with both Chrome and MS Edge browsers. Did not used to be this way - what happened?

I don't think most users have to go through that daily. I certainly don't.

I only have to go through sign-in and verification after erasing my browser cookies, changing my IP-address, using a brand new browser, or signing in to an unfamiliar eBay site such as ebay.fr instead of ebay.com.

Using a VPN or hotspot, or using certain kinds of privacy software can change your IP-address, which would cause you to go through verification again the next time you signed in.

If your browser is set to erase cookies when you close it, or if you are using a cleaner program to periodically erase your cookies, then the next time you sign in you will have to go through verification again.

There may be other things that can cause additional verification, such as if your account has sign ins from far off locations that might cause eBay to use heightened security features.

A corrupt or blocked browser cookie can also cause issues; it might be worth manually erasing just your eBay cookies once to see if that makes any difference -- though if the problem occurs in multiple browsers this is much less likely to be your issue.

I don't use Chrome, but I have used MS Edge, I find when I close out my browser I have to sign in every time.

I switched to Firefox, no more chronic sign ins.

I am not using any VPN, privacy software, etc. I'm not logging in from far off locations.

This happens all the time, with both browsers running, i.e. not when I close my browser. The same problem occurs on multiple computers.

Just happened again, twice today - It is driving me nuts...

I think it may be time to look at your router and your security software. One question to ask is whether any of your apps updated about the time this started. Updates can sometimes change system settings.

It should be fairly easy to turn off your computer's security software to test for half a day. As long as you don't poke around in pages with lots of external ads, the risk is tiny.

I don't know how to test your router if you don't have an alternate method for accessing the internet.

This recently happened to me too.  Every device.  Multiple times per day.  I also can't preview any listings due to some sort of sign in error on the pop-up.  I recently signed up to be able to spend my available funds.  It ruined everything.  I am hoping tthat undoing that will make it the same as before.

The preview issue is different; some users report being able to overcome that preview error by switching to a different browser, which may indicate a possible problem with cache, cookies, settings, add-ons or browser version.

It is because ebay is a failure at everything it does. Sure they will blame everything on something else but notice these things only happen consistently on ebay.  How they are still in business is mindboggling.
