Among the listings of "All Categories" available in the pull down menu, seems to me that "Search this Store" should be one of the choices available whenever you are browsing a store.

The way things are now, I have to hit "Advanced" search to enter the seller's ID and then click through all the choices before searching for the topic I am interested in out of twelve thousand listings.

Seems like it should be an easy coding update.

The "new format" store search was previously just a default function of eBay's top search bar, but it caused so much confusion that a separate search was added down in the body of the store instead.

Your idea of making it a separate "category" selector makes sense, but now that another search bar is farther down the page, it may no longer be needed.
