We're using eBay file exchange to add compatibility to our listings. To make sure we have clean fitment we'd like to remove all fitment from a listing and then add all of the new fitment without specifying the vehicles to remove in the file.
Does anyone know the proper way to null the compatibility field using file exchange?
We've tried sending a blank value, null, delete, "", '' and a variety of other ways without success.

The above resources also do not seem to have an answer to our question.

Hi @driven_products,
There is not an option in Seller Hub Reports (File Exchange) to revise listings to simply remove all part compatibility information from the listings. You would have to actually specify Make, Model, and Year. You would enter "Delete" (without quotation marks) in the Action column. In the Relationship column, you would enter "Compatibility" (without quotation marks). In the Relationship details column, you would enter the make, model, and year (for example, Make=Honda|Model=Accord|Year=2020).

Thanks for responding tools_apps_team@ebay.
That is the best result we could get during testing. Thank you for confirming the functionality.
The issue for us is that we do not retain old data. Once we fix fitment in our internal tool we have no way of auditing what has been removed.
Our ideal scenario is to null all fitments and submit the updated fitment in one action. If this is not possible, the next best thing would be some other bulk action that we could use to remove fitment from all of our listings at once and then use File Exchange to add the new fitment.
Do you know of a bulk way to do this? We have 1,000 listings so doing this manually is not an option.
Thanks for your help!

I'm not aware of a way to revise listings in bulk to remove all part compatibility. It may be possible using an API (I don't know for sure). You might try going through the eBay Developers Program portal:
https://developer.ebay.com/support
There are forums and a knowledge base where you may be able to find answers. There is also the option of premium (paid) support.
Some third-party programs may have the capability. You can find information on select third-party programs at:

Thanks! We'll check it out.
One last question. Is there a place to request functionality upgrades? Specifically with eBay File Exchange?
This seems like obvious functionality based on how ACES fitment works and we'd like to request it.

Most of the listings in the Compat chart are wrong anyhow. The problem is NO ONE not even a Hollander guarantees fitment and only is a suggested guide..Technology is at the point where is you need a part from a dealership and or salvage yard they want your VIN number to access which parts were used to build the vehicle...There will never be an accurate chart as it changes daily with motor vehicle production. Early Model cars did not have part numbers even and parts were ordered by description.
1 Example of MANY: 1969 Dodge Charger R/T is listed as having a 318 v8....never happened...Only 440 4bbl or 426 HEMI 2x4bbl. So tell me how you can guarantee a part to fit a vehicle that does not exist!
Beside 5/17/2024 4.15 pm the compat chart is having a breakdown and you cannot complete your listing accurately.

Hi @driven_products,
I would recommend that you submit a comment using the Comments link you can find in the upper right in Seller Hub Reports. The product developers read those comments.

Hello @driven_products,
I found out that there is a way to remove all compatibilities using Seller Hub Reports (File Exchange). What you would do is add a column with the header ReplaceAll to your revision file. In that column, enter TRUE:

Thanks tools_apps_team@ebay
I gave it a try and cannot seem to get it to work. Here is a screenshot of my test file.
Is there something wrong with my format?

Hello @driven_products,
Try removing the Compatibility rows. Keep the ReplaceAll column with the value TRUE. Upload the file that way. It should remove all the existing compatibilities. If you then want to add new compatibilities, you could upload a revision file with the new compatibilities.

I love you!

I’ve tested the ReplaceAll: TRUE option, and it does indeed work!
However, I have a concern regarding the changes it triggers. Upon reviewing the revision history, I noticed that not only was Compatibility updated, but other elements, such as Postage Terms and Payment Terms, were also modified (per the Revision history, I couldn't find any changes in the listing itself).
Do you think using this option might reset additional elements of the listing unintentionally?
Thank you for your support and insights!

Hello @readytomount,
You should be OK. Other elements on the listings should not be changed. I've found that the revision history sometimes does not accurately reflect the changes that have not been made.
