Are these new items, that you are trying to upload to eBay?
Do you have the item descriptions in a spreadsheet file now? If yes, you can open a second sheet (on the template file), load the desciptions using Data>From File, create this sheet as a table (you need some field as a identifier/label), then use the vlookup function, in the template file, to copy the descriptions into the template.
If that sounds confusing, you may be better of with the cut and paste you mentioned. But if you have questions about the above, I will be back late, this pm, to help.
